Not really, this season he’s shown himself to be an upper Championship level defensive midfielder. We need a defensive midfielder to give Peck a deserved rest.
Looks like our 1st choice is Choudhury at Leicester and would imagine we’re tying in the Cannon deal at the same time
But if things go pear shaped regards Choudhury then it’s always good to have a plan B option.
Also Charles is quite young, big and physical with potential, so he’s likely to improve.
Basically Choudhury has experience and is for the here and now where as Charles will be good for the now, but Wilder might think he has a big future in the game.
Also it helps that we already have open negotiations with Southampton regards BBD, so it’s logical for us to ask about the Charles situation.
Not sure him enjoying it at Wednesday is relevant. He’s a professional and does what’s best for his career and bank balance.
Besides I’m sure he’d enjoy it equally as much at United.
