Miller given the old heave ho apparently:

I feel sorry for the lad, but we've been waiting for him to get back to his best and it hasn't happened. We can't keep trotting out the "he hasn't had a pre-season" line. We must have someone or a few someones in the pipeline.

Good luck to you Shaun.

Shows some confidence in getting some new strikers in at least - do feel for him as he's the only striker we've had since Ched to show any promise at any time. Guess the injury did for him unfortunately.

Ye, it's a bit of a shame, but I absolutely understand why Clough has made this decision.

If we want to go up automatically, we need a guarantee that our striker/s are going to be firing from the first game, and there's been nothing to suggest Miller can do that for us next season. Yes, he was great pre-injury, but that was 2 seasons ago now, and we need a player who has been prolific this season so give us the best chance of getting up. I think he made the right call, and it also excites me as we can surely expect a minimum of 2 strikers inbound now.

i liked miller particularly his movement and how he showed for the ball, but all in all i think that nigel is better off starting with the players he feels will play to how he wants to play.

Thought he could have overcome his injury and got back to the standard before, but NC obviously doesn't think so. Shame, hope the lad does well elsewhere.

It is a shame, I really liked the lad. But this is positive, shows Clough has strikers in mind.

Or he might re-join Danny Wilson at Barnsley?

Indeed. Danny can pick both he and Will Hoskins up for free. He's signed both before, and both need a good pre-season after limited football the last 12 months.

I will remember him for that last minute goal at Craven Cottage in front of those incredible fans. The FA Cup this season has been an amazing experience and I am pleased Shaun Miller played a part in it. Good luck for the future.

Agreed. It was a tough 120 mins to watch, but a brilliant end - as mad a goal celebration as I can remember. Got absolutely drenched walking away from the ground, but you notice that less if the game ends like that. Good luck to him.

He's one of the casualties of the "buy anybody we can get cheap or free" strategy we've been using the last 3 or 4 years.
Clearly never good enough to play for us, but he always gave it as good as he could. Over-performed until his injury. Can't fault him at all, i hope he gets a gig somewhere else and does well for himself. He strikes me as one of those who just wants to play and enjoy his football, he deserves someone to take him on.

We didn't play to his strengths, he was a goal poacher under Wilson and had success because he played alongside another striker, under Clough he had to take up the lone striker role.

Wasn't it his cruciate? If so, I seriously doubt if a player ever fully recovers from that - physically or mentally. It did for LJF and one of the 2 up front for Burnley (can't remember which) has done his.

Remember, he's 27 in a few months and has little over 50 career goals in over 200 appearances, spread between the 3rd and 4th division under about 5 or 6 different managers. Perhaps he's just not good enough?

He's one of those who, unlike Porter (sorry), look the part, but the stats are there for all to see.

We want out of this division next season, and that involves removing emotion, attachment and hope and replacing it with as much certainty as possible.

I agree, I was just pointing out a reason why he's not as had as much success after his injury.

The club should gave given a chance once he was fully fit.

Have we already signed Fernando Torres and I've blinked and missed it ??!!

Bloody hope not!
The club should gave given a chance once he was fully fit.

I think that's why they let him go on loan, get himself some games and see how he was. Perhaps stand a better chance with McNulty, sad for miller, but that's football

Miller will get 15 goals minimum next season, wherever he goes, good luck to the lad.
