Jagielka wasn't a natural leader, just a good player in the side that everyone liked.

I think CW just wanted to hit the ground running and give the fans an immediate lift by acting quickly. I though it was a great PR move at the time making Billy captain and as it sounded like him and Knill saw a lot of our games last season, so he'll have seen that he was the one that gave more than most on the pitch. No harm now if he were to step aside like TC did - Wilder could use that when he tells him.

That said I've only been to one game so far so I'm not necessarily saying Billy's no good as a captain.
