Also at Leicester.
But there wasnt a Leicester player or fan attacked

Same at Darlington and Northampton

Same at Coventry in 1990-91 season

Our fans also invaded the pitch when as a League One club we knocked Forest out of the FA Cup

Once again, no violent incidents and no intent to attack anybody

I have a feeling that next time Forest are at the Lane things might be different

My first away match was at Forest with my grandad. We lost 3-0. But during the game he was hit on the head with a coin and oddly, an apple core. This was 2002. So nothing has changed.

For once, I didn’t even make enough for the price of the programme last night.
 
Forest fans are really going after Heckingbottom. Apparently he's to blame for everything, having riled up the poor innocent forest fans who aren't accountable for their actions at all. What is it he's supposed to have done? They refer to the absolutely scandalous incident where he pushed the ball into Spence's gut so he'd hurry up and take a throw in. I get that one. But they also keep talking about "snide" comments in the build up.

Anyone know what they were? Robinson too apparently but they're forgetting about him a bit.

You can't condemn violence whilst advocating violence.

Forest will probably receive a fine but no further sanctions unless there's been repeated trouble throughout the season, which there hasn't been. Let remember how many incidents it took until A&B block got closed for the season on thr South Stand back in 2003. It took several before action was taken.

Great post. I’m not even going to read anything beyond this.

The only thing not addressed is how Billy Sharp feels about the situation. That is a separate issue to the one you’ve discussed though.

Oh and it was G and H block wasn’t it?

Has any club been as bitter and upset after winning as Forest fans. I think it's been that long since they've had a biggish game they just don't know how to handle it. The most tinpot reactions I've ever seen.

This last week has been a not so subtle reminder why Forest only sit behind Wednesday as my most disliked club. Leeds don’t get near.

Given the social media shitstorm overnight, it’s almost impossible to imagine how bitter, over the top, and tin-pot the reaction could have been, if we’d actually won. The whole ground and environs might have imploded in a West Bridgford shaped black hole.

I think you’re spot on with this. It does all rather smack of ‘lower league side pulls off shock result in FA Cup’.

Its very similar to when Wednesday got to the play off final. They also acted like they were first club to ever get there. Both clubs have a big chunk of their fanbase that have never experienced anything other than scraping a League One promotion. The weird reactions do make sense when you think about how bad they've been for over 2 decades. It's such a small time vibe they give out.

Yeah. Entirely agree. And of course Cooper has given them this very quickly, all at once, all of a sudden. They’re like over-stimulated toddlers on a 3-day sleepover.

This does make a lot of sense. They've been lapping up the media adulation for the past couple of months, especially as they rose into promotion contention and the narrative switched to the old familiar "big club might make it back to where it belongs".

The first interruption to the fawning over how brilliant they are and you have this toddler-throwing-shit-at-the-wall tantrum of a reaction.

Now I'm having a hard time deciding what I'd prefer to see.

  1. Short term: they get absolutely spanked in the final. They're 4 nil down 20 minutes in with the following 70 minutes being a shithousing masterclass from huddersfield and the forest fans descending into a sobbing, teeth gnashing frenzy at every time wasting moment,
  2. Long term: They get promoted but after the initial fanfare it soon becomes apparent they're going to get repeatedly tonked and the punditry narrative shifts to whether they'll beat Derby's record before we've even got to Halloween.
 



Just been watching a major European final, to my knowledge not one supporter went on the pitch at the final whistle. Obviously luck, or could it be that it was well organised with sufficient trained Stewards.
