Anything's possible, but I wouldn't chuck a fiver on it mesen.

Our toughest match is in the cup so if you remove that and focus on league it seems doable to me. But you never know what the football gods have up their sleeves... :(

In recent years for us, a cosh, but you never know, they might have relented by now

Even Prometheus got off eventually, after 300 years or so :)

Perhaps we had a gypsy curse similar to the one at Birmingham that was lifted by the manager (Ron Saunders I believe) pissing in the corners! Imagine CW wouldn't be too happy about having to drop keks at BDTBL but summat happened...

Definitely achievable, just unlikely. And unlikely things happen all the time. Would expect us to rest some in the cup, and that's the toughest fixture of the lot. Otherwise, it's whether one of those sides plays a blinder or we have a bad day. We're clear favourites in all but one of those matches.

can we emulate Arsenal who hold the record for a season of 38 unbeaten
they did 49 games overall , as they went 10 the next season and won the last of the previous season
but we could go 42
which might see us up

As a famous motivational speech once said...
'Defeat doesn't worry me, I've had it often and so have you, it's performance that matters. You put in the performance you'll get what you deserve, no luck attached'

Absolutely bang on. If we keep up the level of performance that we have been putting in for the last 13 matches then no amount of bad luck will be enough to stop us over the course of the remaining season. We will lose the odd game, absolutely, but very few teams will be able to match what we bring to the table.

Haven't felt this confident in a manager, assistant manager and team since Basset was at his peak. The Footballing Gods can look elsewhere as far as I am concerned.

Was it Pinchy ?

Didn't we go unbeaten for fricking ages in 08/09 (Burnley P/O final season)? Or was that just away from home?

6 home matches and only 3 away excluding the cup match so I would say its doable - however with 6 home games I would settle for 18 points and would be ecstatic with 20 or 21.
18 points would keep up the 2 points a match required for automatic promotion
Would be great if we did it but would prefer a lot of wins getting 20 odd points rather than unbeaten with a lot of draws. Points are more important than an unbeaten run although they do tend to go hand in hand !

That was away from home - we went 16 league games away without defeat, between losing at Wednesday on 19 October to losing at Burnley on 20 April. That's a club record I think.

We lost 5 times at home during that span.

We won't win every week.
That makes the odds of us losing some game 50/50. Always an individual error, or bad decision away from being the wrong side of a single goal defeat.

So for me, it is very unlikely we will do it.
However, for the first time for a very long time I look ahead at those fixtures and can say we won't lose many, we may well score in every game and we might just win at least half of them.
So that's improvement right there.
