Selling old United programmes.

I wonder if anyone could help me out.
It's not something I've done before and without going into too much detail its something I'm needing to do rather than wanting to.
I've got some old united programmes to sell. They date from the 50s up until about 2010.
Could anyone recommend the best thing to do with them? Antiques shop? Ebay? I'm not after the best price but I don't want to just give them away either.

To be fair the more modern day programmes (1970+) are worth very little. You could probably put them on eBay as a bulk lot and you might get £20-30 for them. At Sheffield Auction Gallery you might get slightly more but your commission will outweigh it. The 60s I would sell as bulk lots per season (eBay again). The same applies with mid to late fifties but if you have any pre 1953 programmes they are worth listing individually. It's always worth checking for any old postponed, friendly or Anglo Scottish cup games(single sheets). Are they all home programmes?

I'd agree - definitely better than ebay - I sold a couple from the 60's on there and didn't get much at all.

Ebay is really the luck of the draw. The suggestion of Sheffield Auction Galleries is very good, and worth looking at. Alternatively, keep an eye out for the next Antiques Fair at Doncaster Racecourse (if you are willing to travel a bit). If anyone there is buying stuff like that, you might end up getting a bit more than auction because neither the buyer or seller has to consider commision.

As others have said, the more recent stuff is worth buttons I'm afraid.
