Anyone know what parts of the stadium are always segregated now?
And how many?

Just a shame because we can never get 32k plus

Fuck knows what SYP will do, when the likes of, Man U, Newcastle, citeh and Liverpool roll up.

Seems to be something like:

First 3 rows of BL upper and lower tiers.
Half of the end block on each side of BL lower tier.
Bottom corners of John Street and South Stand.

So about 1500 altogether.

Seems ridiculous that this policy was put in place many years after hooliganism started to diminish. Today there are virtually no incidents at games. Ten years ago we were allowed 32k in the ground for high profile games, what have we done since to deserve getting the capacity reduced by 1500k?

At the recent Derby County game I had a seat next the segregated area. The segregation consisted of low barrier, steward every third row, stairs, steward every third row and another low barrier. Prior to the game I got talking to a Steward and told him about the excessive segregation at Bramall Lane - to the effect "if you can get away with it why can't we".

When Derby scored there was the expected provocation from some of the adjacent Derby fans, and of course this generated the verbal retaliation from a few of our fans. It struck me that as away fans we can't choose where to sit (I certainly wouldn't have sat there had I had the choice), but the home supporters do. I don't know why the home clubs don't eject the home provocateurs - or at least prevent them getting similar positions in future.

Stewards often seem to ignore the home fans and always seems to concentrate on policing away fans and it seems to me that a lot of the aggravation would be prevented if some of the home fans were sorted out.

With all the surveillance cameras (watching every seat according to fairly recent reports) at Bramall lane, I'm sure a lot of the netting could be removed and a few more seats used when demand for tickets is high.

They’ll turn up and police the game, somebody said sky picks up the extra policing fee in the premier league, or premier league pays for it...

Is that true?, if so there’ll be bogies all over the ground enjoying a full house atmosphere..

Yeah at the Fa Cup game in Leicester last season I was next to a load of chavy yoots and a sprinkling of Middle Aged men who spent the whole game trying to provoke us. They were far more interested in us and than the game.

I found it pathetic as they obviously choose to congregate next to the away fans for that reason. At one point one of the biggest of the knob heads was finally ejected after an hour of goading and I wondered if he would just be let back in to be a pain in the arse the following week.

You've made my point exactly!

There’s officially 32,702 seats in the ground.
Last season Steel City Derby was an official sell out and had an attendance of 31,120.

So that means virtually 1,600 seats were covered in netting.
750 netted off in away end (bottom tier).
The front 2 rows of the upper tier
Some on the South stand corner near the corner flag
And some in the family stand near the corner flag.

It’s different in the PL.
All clubs MUST give away fans a minimum of 3000 tickets or 10% of their capacity, whichever is lower.
When we were last in the PL we gave away fans 2,990 tickets and the PL accepted it for the sake of 10 seats.
