I love football and, for the first time, was excited about the PL this season. Managers like Guardiola, players liker Pogba and Ibrahimovich. However it's all turning out like 'Emperor's New Clothes'. Far from Sky over-hyping 'Super Sunday' and other such bollocks, games between the big six will be mostly tedium as none of them want to lose (Spurs excepted).

I don't bother with Sky or BT Sport as, let's face it, 90 minutes of 'live' football is tedious to watch on telly. I think MoTD is the perfect format - highlights of around 8 games in an hour and a half, not too heavy on the pundity. But even then, if I'm knackered, I'll go to bed around halfway through as teams like Watford, Stoke, WBA, Sunderland etc. don't interest me in the slightest.

If the Beeb lose yet more sport by ditching MoTD (thinking licence-payers money is better spent on shite like Strictly and Bake Off), that's when I stop paying the licence fee.

I watched the man city thrashing on spanish tv and they commented on their lack of quality , and were saying Barca were only in second gear . The following sports programme on Alicant tv looked at obscure players around europe that were legends in their country, it featured georgi hagi of roumania and george best of ireland, Here in parts of Spain theye never heard of him ,
It shows how views vary in football, mind you theyd had di stefano and puskas at real for 7 years when best came out

I am continually pestered by Sky at work to install their product which I continually refuse. My reason - a total dislike for Murdoch.

As for the Blades I can take it or leave it as far as the Premiership is concerned although I don't want to be a mediocre Championship club season after season as we became 1994-2006 (apart from 2003).

In the short term - a few years in the Championship with some great cup runs, matches with great atmosphere, where we upset some of the big boys plus possibly winning a cup or two would do nicely.

I just cannot muster up the slightest inclination to give a toss about Premiership football anymore. Any flickering interest I had has long since been flattened by the sheer wankery of modern football and every aspect of it.

And this what we have now, in what is widely regarded as the country's biggest derby match:

Not for me thanks. Not only do I have no desire to watch my club be a bit-part part player in a giant circus act, I actually hope we never get there. What we'd stand to lose is far more precious than anything we'd hope to gain.

You'd want us to lose a Championship play off final against Wednesday then?

I'm surprised someone else noticed that.
It drove me mad.

60 quid to watch Utd struggle away in a shitty corner of Goodison Park , getting abused by coppers after paying 10 quid to park at Sunderland or.... £23 at Shrewsbury , decent view ,Utd attacking ,pint in the Brooklands 500 yards from the ground. I know exactly what you mean ,suppose the Championship could be the compromise.

Brooklands?
Bloody Hell - I could have been standing next to you, Sitters

I was in Brooklands too!
