Arsenal showed for the first 30 mins yesterday that having already played a full competitive match could be an advantage. Although they lost at the death lol, they were much quicker in pass, movement and thought than Brighton in the early stages.

I'm hoping it's the same for the Blades today. A couple of goals in the first 20 minutes while Newcastle are still finding their feet and it could be game over.

COYRAWW........................................................⚔⚔⚔

But we were really poor, our game v Villa has, and i don't want to say it, been the worst game I've seen since footy started again.
Everyonelse has looked far fitter and quicker etc.
I agree, we were. As Tufty alluded to, the loss of Flecky and JOC made preparation really difficult. It will be different today. Whatever team he puts out I reckon will be 'at it' from the off.

We need to be, we need an early lead to build on.

A part of me wants to think we used the Villa game as a final ‘warm up’ game, with it being a game in hand. Knowing the amount of games we’ve got to play in a short space of time, coming flying out of the blocks in the first game could lead to some serious fatigue in a few weeks time, we needed to be conservative and i think we’ll be in much better rhythm today.

The Wolves game was pretty wank until they put Traore on.

Today's a game in hand too, hope we do better!

He's different gravy him, but it was still quicker than us at villa?

The Spurs v Man Utd game was rather sloppy as well til they brought Pogba on. Everyone has looked like they have not played for 3 months so far apart from Man City.

I agree, but our game was still far slower than all the others, hopefully just nerves and adjustment, I mean, imagine how many people were watching that game, apart from the ref, linesmen, everyone at stockley park, or Hawkeye, they must've felt some pressure.

It's a big advantage IF we make it pay in the first 60 minutes. If we don't, there's a fare chance we might tire more towards the end.

I think Bruce will be even more negative than normal today so we are going to need lots of patience today

Gary Neville made an interesting point. Teams are playing differently with no crowd. Basically, he suggests that even home sides are simply getting goalside in numbers when they lose possession and that is making for pretty boring matches. With a stadium full, the crowd a) wouldn’t stand for it and b) it creates an atmosphere that urges home teams to be more aggressive

That would explain it a bit.

I'd never have guessed, that having 28000 people cheering you on, would maybe get the adrenaline flowing abit more than playing infront of 5 pigeons!?, really is eye opening stuff!

Saw a great post on Owlstalk yesterday “ thought the crowd was a bit flat today”😂😂
