Ready for my positives?

Last year was the most enjoyable season I've ever had watching the Blades. The only down side? We were expected to win a lot of the time. This year we were the new boys, 6th cheapest squad in the league, a manager and a lot of players debuting at this level, and what have we done?

(Please keep in mind my username as I list these positives in order of relevance to me)

- We humiliated the pigs. An established Championship side who's fans are still clinging on to their Premiership return (10 year) tickets.

- Did the double over Leeds

-Finished well... WELL above our poor neighbours.

- Stuck to our formation and attacking football

- Played some fantastic stuff in certain games.

- Only got outclassed twice

- Topped the table at some point, and to sum it all up the most...

- We've only lost out on a play off spot with 2 games to go! A pub side, who'd "be down by Christmas", battling for a playoff spot mid April.

We have the best manager of a generation. Next season we will have the holy trinity back. We have one of the top scorers in the division. The best young centre half in the league. A fully fit Brooks. George and Freeman pushing for a place. The chance at a Sheffield double.

Just be grateful, we all know the negatives. We can't keep saying "we would have taken this pre season" (as true as it is), there is work to be done but enjoy the ride because the good times are here!
Keep giving the pigs shit, sing your heart out for the remaining games, wear your shirt with pride on your holibobs and be proud of what we've all achieved as a club.

Says it all when you’re second best season is just for finishing above Wednesday.

I sort of get this because I've loved it too. I'm struggling to think of many games I've walked away from and thought what a waste of time. To be in the mix till game 44 is a fantastic achievement that shouldn't be taken either lightly or for granted. I can't remember a time when we haven't had anyone I think is shite , but right now , we haven't.

And yet........11th.Fucks sake.

Definitely been an enjoyable season. Undoubtedly worth the entrance fee most weeks and some memories that will live on forever. We realised that we are better than many of us thought and but for a bit of luck we would still be in the hunt. Disappointing end but the stuff we have played at home even in the past month, despite the frustration with the results, have left me proud of the club.

It's without question a chance missed and we really have blown it ourselves with these strange half arsed performances against the likes of Hull, Barnsley and Birmingham but when the dust settles it's been an exciting season and one that has seen us fully establish ourselves as a Championship club.

Don't forget the "embarassing the pork part" that was even higher.

From the pig end .........you be about 12 then ?........just asking.
Fair point.
I'm 33, so didnt appreciate the Bassett era.
Enjoyed some of the Warnock ones but the style and heart that Wilder has brought to us is just something else.
Blade as captain, chairman and manager, bouncing day massacre... you can see my point?
