Sheffield United's Mamadou Seck was the mystery trialist who appeared for Saints in last night's friendly win over Dumbarton. The defender has been capped six times for Senegal.

Reports on how Seck did last night vary, and it seems he should be looked at again before a decision is made. However, with only one more game - the Renfrewshire Cup Final against Morton - before the season gets underway, this may not be possible.

It's probably best all round if he does join St Mirren. Is he still on our books or has he been released by the way?

What another great signing by Mr Warnock last January, he made a tremendous contribution to our team in trying to keep us in the premier league NOT

He's still on the squad list on the OS, but doesn't have a number.
I remember Ashley Ward was "still in our squad" according to Sky Sports during the 2005/2006 season, they probably thought Helios was still injured whilst sunning himself, getting stupid haircuits and shooting dogs.

I'm starting to wonder just how much Warnock knew about the likes of Seck, Shelton and Fathi before we signed them...

Saints send Seck back to Blades

St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson has sent defender Mamadou Seck back to Sheffield United following a short trial at Love Street.

The Senegalese 27-year-old has two years remaining on a contract he signed when moving to Bramall Lane in January.

Seck started just two matches for the Blades and MacPherson was prepared to hand him the chance of a permanent deal with the Buddies.

However he said: "We won't be taking our interest in defender Mamadou Seck any further."

Meanwhile MacPherson has confirmed Israeli striker Roy Dayan, 22, remained in with a chance of earning a deal.

Dayan is expected to face Morton on Saturday. MacPherson told the club's official website: "Roy Dayan is still here with us - his trial period with us will continue for now."

Looks like St Mirran dont want him.

Yes unfortunatly another one of Warnocks poor signings that no one seems to want.

Funny how when we signed him Warnock said he hoped he would be like Sonko (reading).
I thought he was on the transfer list but free to go at any point
