Youngest son went down to renew his season tkt yesterday, as he's 15 years old he thought he could renew for £30.
He was refused as he turns 16 in July.
Why? He's 15 now and wanting to buy "NOW".
I notice they don't add on loyalty points early for buying a season tkt early, they go on next season's points total.
Lost another customer now.

The season does'nt start until August by which time your son will be 16. Seems reasonable to me to charge him the price of a 16 year old, and I would think common practice throughout the league. Its £140 for 16-21 yo's which again seems pretty good value for money.

Ah well another excuse to beat up the Club.:(

I'm in the same position, as my son is also 16 in July. I've renewed for him anyway as its still good value at £140.

It does say in the Season Ticket T+Cs that they have to be U16 on 1st September 2012 to qualify for U16 concessions.

I wouldn't say that post was taking the chance to beat up the club, but I do think the club stance is a reasonable one, in terms of selling a ticket at the right price for the right age.

Mind you, I may be slightly influencced by the fact that by the time next season starts, I'll be entitled to a concession, as I'll have reached a significant birthday by then, so I suppose I'm a beneficiary of the way the system works. I didn't have an ST this season, I'll probably get one for next season, so that's a customer regained.

I doubt the ticket office would charge full price for a 59 year old buying their ticket now if their birthday was in August.

EDIT - Just read Trigg's. Must hit F5 more often...

Me and some lads have sat mid-way down the Kop for years now and we're looking to move further back to the standing section. Does anyone know which row everyone starts to sit down at? Is it only the back few rows or is it like the back 10 rows? Do people even stand up for the whole game anymore?!

I've not worded this brilliantly but hopefully you get the gist of what I'm asking here. Thanks in advance!

Not adding loyalty points on till the end of the season makes sense to me (usually) but this year if they had added them early there would of been thousands renewing early just to get extra points for the Exeter game. Probably lots who maybe wont renew for league 1 again aswell so we could of ended up with many more STs next year but its too late for that now.

Havent you got any mates with kids maybe a year younger than your son though that you could borrow their birth certificate for to get an ST? I doubt their going to ask for ID on the concession turnstile for a young 16 year old, unless he looks old for his age. Although Im not advocating ripping off the club

I sit on VV, gangway F, and I'm right on the cusp, the choice is ours most games

What do the rules state? If they state 16 by the start of the season, then not much you can say. Did he also try to get one for the 2013/14 season as well as he wants to buy it now?!?

Personally I think U18's should be given concessions.

If I renew online, can I do it for my 2 sons and mother who aren't registered but have current season tickets and customer numbers?

I called the club to ask but spat my dummy out after 15 minutes on a premium rate number.

UTB

You should be able to renew them if they are linked to your account in the friends and family section, in fact, I had to actively remove a number of season tickets from my cart at the checkout as it assumed I wished to renew for every single person in my friends and family :)

If they aren't in your friends and family, you need to link them via both yours and their accounts.

If you don't have a password for their accounts, try their postcode as a password - this was set as a default at one stage.

You'll wonder where all the money's coming from Trig.
Bus Pass, Senior Railcard - excellent value if you use the train a fair bit, fuel allowance, free prescriptions the list goes on!!!!

;)

But you are advocating fraud...

Its that premium rate number again. No answer from the club as to when they are going to change it and all they they said at the cricketers was they will overhaul the phone system in the summer.

I'm not retiring, just reaching 60 and I already wonder where the money's coming from at the moment!

I understand that I can now only get a bus pass, and probably those other things you mention, when I reach the retirement age of a female who's the same age as I am and that's no longer 60, it's about two years away. I shouldn't mention that on here, as United clearly haven't spotted the fact they're discounting tickets to people who are still in the labour market.

There isn't a "standing section". That's why there are seats for everyone. You can stand up if you like, but looking for a "standing section" will have the same results as looking for the Loch Ness Monster. Some will claim to have seen it, but it doesn't actually exist.

Looks like I hit 60 just in time then!

You knew what I meant by "standing section", surely?!

Gotcha........Sheffield United Football Club from May 6th will only accept applications for old age concession season tickets from people who are 62 years and six months old at the start of season 2012/13.
