Season tickets - critical decisions

As I recall, ST sales this season were about 2,000 down on last season, stand to be corrected but I thought to about 15,000. As it stands, our average crowd is down to just over 20,000 which is a massive 20% lower than last season. Unless the club does something to arrest the decline, I can quite easily see the same drop next season so it's clear that they can't just rely on MA and the team turning it round. If we have a decent run in from now, I can see it having the effect of people not walking away but I don't think it would convince the missing thousands to come back.

As I've said, to me, the only way is to take a chance, drop the price right down and even if they take a hit short term, the long term benefits are what really matters and that means getting people back in the ground.

I think the bigger problem are the match day prices and think we need to look at a way of bringing ST and MD prices back together.

Every season ticket holder should gain 5 vouchers for a friend/friends to gain access to any match apart from a cat A game for £15 quid. This is a must because the cheap games are being wasted because nobody knows about it We should also bring down the MD prices for cat A games.

Season tickets should be no more than £300 for the kop and BL upper tier, £400-450 elsewhere. U12's should be free when acoompanied by a paying adult and anyone under 18 should be around £100 all which can be payed monthly.

We moved from the South Stand to the Kop last season because we refused to pay more money to watch the shit Blackwell was producing saving us £150. I'd go back for the £100 difference I suggest.

Like this idea or a variation of it.
All season ticket holders able to bring a friend to a maximum of like you say 5 games except cat A over the season for 10 or 15 quid - I think ideally 10.
One of the best ideas so far for me.

One of my issues about Season Tickets is the word "loyalty".

I'm fully behind the concept that anyone renewing their Season Ticket should be offered a "discount", however I'm against the idea that returning or new Season Tickets purchases should be required to pay a "premium".

Let me give an example. A couple of seasons ago, renewing Season Ticket holders could renew their ST at a certain price, provided they renewed by a certain date. (Nothing wrong with that). In addition, their children, under a certain age could purchase a Season Ticket at a nominal sum, £50 I believe. What annoyed me, and hence stopped me purchasing a ST was I couldn't even purchase a ticket until well after this date (why), at a full premium price (fair enough), but the offer for children was no longer available.

Clearly, former or new Season Ticket purchasers, need to be actively encouraged, with prices, timing, and other incentives, i.e. we all know that currently there are loads of empty seats, not allocated to existing Season Ticket holders, so why not offer discounts (not the same as renewing discounts) from day one to new Season Tickets purchasers, rather than waiting for all existing Season Tickets holders to renew in the same seat or change of seat.

The bring a mate vouchers is a good idea.

travellingblade's complaint strikes a chord with me. The problem with time-limited offers is what to do when the deadline passes. I would rather see a simple good-value price structure.

How about a free for ST holders preseason friendly (cough) with Wednesday?

Let's save playing the porkers until we've got our shit together. There'd be nothing worse than a pre season drubing by the unclean to kill season ticket sales.

I'll bring this one back to life again...

Didn't Cardiff promise to spend x millions in the summer followed by x million more in jan transfer window last season if they sold a certain number of season tickets.

I dont remember the exact structure of this, but ridsdale broke the news that they were skint in the jan window last year, leaving some pissed off sheep shaggers down there.

Any thoughts on a similar incentive of "invest in a season ticket and we'll invest in the team" tactic?
