That's a very suitable acknowledgement of the lack of progress over the last 12 months. Well done United.

These fans forums are a load of bollocks let's be right - you get politician answers from Mcabe etc and they achieve nothing.

One of my rewards for over performing at work last year was a 10 per cent bonus in my March salary - and on Monday I attended a Q&A with John Pryce the main man, where 30 or so of us pretty much sat in silence where he told us how 'great' we were.

Waste of time. Much like Mcabes forums

However if they said no forums as we are busy helping buy players for next year that would be a better outcome, the worrying thing about all this that has been overlooked is Adkins or whoever won't have a pot to piss in this summer with 10% less revenue - hence the numerous forums.

Would rather the prices stayed the same, or a slight increase, and some real intent was shown in the transfer market.

If we were to show said intent, it would down to owner investment as opposed to ST revenue. I'll admit to being ignorant of the running costs of the club, but ticket sales I would imagine barely cover it.

I think this is a positive move, recognition that they had to do something radical to stop fans walking away in droves after this bloody awful season. Also nice to get confirmation that the Prince is still involved!

So if you were running the shop "Ricky" how much would season tickets cost?
As mentioned on another thread, Huddersfield are offering the first 10,000 at £179 anywhere in the ground. Given that we are in a lower league, this should be matched at the very least. I'll still be paying more than double this after a 10% reduction.

It's time you sampled the delights of the kop then mate with the rest of us low life's!

Nice to have a reduction, shows the owners do appreciate the supporters.
Will be my 35th consequitive season ticket, and I hope it encourages everyone to renew, and lapsed supporters to purchase.

Well done everyone.
Yep agreed Treeton my 52nd and there's still life in this season,if we go up we will have the cheapest tickets in the Chsmpionship. Well done Blades

Spent much of my supporting life standing on the kop mate. Then moved down the side to stand for a while, when they seated the kop. Finally when there was nowhere left to stand I left you riff raff behind and moved to the south stand library. May be I should reconsider.

My Huddersfield colleague told me yesterday they've sold 12000 and are increasing the deal up to 15000.

They had to do this really. But still get a well done from me for doing so.

£12.52 per game (kop) for an adult or £1.54 for a junior is very reasonable for league 1. Just hope the standard of football on display improves too.

I wonder where the cash shortfall is going to be made up? (Bye Brayford)

As for these fans forums a complete waste of time, usually a lecture from McCabe with a load of gullible fools giving McCabe a storm of applause every sentence whilst I was sat there with my arms folded thinking "this must be what it felt like to be a Liberal at a Nuremberg Rally"

"Sheffield United confirm the price reductions will still apply if they are promoted via the play-offs in May."

That's a fairly safe promise to make, taking the piss, peanuts for monkeys, a feckin insult. This offer says we know we've failed so we won't take as much money off you for our failure and your support

10 feckin percent. What the feck do they expect grovelling, touching the peak of our cap and saying thanks Mr McCabe? Fecking insult!:mad:

If they wanted to make a real gesture they should give every season ticket holder that has held a ticket for 5 consecutive seasons a free season ticket and others a half price ticket to fill the ground to watch more failure.

Over reaction of the day and it's not even 8am. :)

But only if they went to Oldham.

I think it is a case of damned of they do, fans are rightfully upset over the seasons failure and unless they basically give season tickets away, it will feel like a hollow gesture from the board.

It does feel that way to me PPC, it's like saying we know we've fecked up but we're only 10% sorry.

Us being in this piss poor league for 5 years with the support and recources must rank as one of the biggest failures of any football club in the history of football clubs Grrrrrrr this "offer" has made me angry, salt in the feckin wounds

I think it's a very positive move by the club and an acknowledgement of how bad we've been this season.

It's certainly a move to be applauded.

My only slight/nagging concern is that:

A: This be used as an excuse not to spend anything next season

B: This is a pre-emptive move because they will be putting into practise the veiled threats made by Jim in January and they know how bad next season will be

10% is perfectly acceptable. They don't have to give us anything if they don't want to. Sure, fan forums may be a waste of time, but at least they're doing it. The club have chosen to take a financial cut (not a big cut, but a cut nonetheless) to reflect the poorer performance of the squad this season. I think it's reasonable. It's symbolic more than anything, I'll only be £3.50 better off each month, but it's all in the right direction. Some of you lot will complain about anything won't ya.

Maybe if we go down to L2 next season they will reduce them by another 10%?

We need an ambitious Board putting in serious investment. ST prices are not the problem.

Which is a reasonable thing to do yet some people will still use it as another stick to beat them with.

It's a fair gamble in terms of revenue loss, if it means some of those who were thinking of not renewing do, and a few buy who weren't going to buy then it's not going to make a big difference in the grand scheme of things, probably McNulty's wages ;)
