I said to myself "we're Premier League now so it must be worth it"

As the Happy Shopper plod came and felt me up near the greeting cards

A full exam from the underpaid and overfed security guard

Thought about asking him to check my prostate while he was at it,

Not out in the open, somewhere more quiet, at the back of the shop near the cat grit, romantic.

Every time I left Aldi or Sainsbury's, or several shops in town, the security sensors would go off and everyone would look at me. I wasn't sure if it was my phone, my work pass or the key fob for my car. Eventually I took my SUFC season cards out of my wallet and it stopped happening. Anyone else have this problem?

Used to get it all the time in Tesco and then eventually realised it was mine and the kid’s season cards so tend to take them out of my wallet now. Security guard just used to look at me bemused as usually set it off on the way in to the shop

something weird going on there. you should report it i'm sure they'd be interested. thing is, every card you have that does contactless has a similar device. nfc can only work if it is within around half a cm max of the reader. as you know electricity creates magnetism and vice versa. the chip in the card is designed so that if you place it near a magnetic field then the resulting electricity is enough to boot the IC, let it do it's stuff and go back to sleep again. Brilliant invention. Invented in Austria. As you know i worked in Austria..connect the dots..

Happens with warrant cards as well, although it is a bit odd if you're just carrying your season card with you unless it's a match day.

For me, it's I'm more likely to lose a single card in my house, than my entire wallet in day to day life.

it must be inadvertently setting the rfid reader off that they use as security tags .. works on a similar principle but with radio waves .. they are supposed to be able to co exist as they use different protocols.. sounds like someone screwed up

The minute I take it out to store until match day is the day I turn up to the match without it.

I only carry my season ticket with me on match days, never take my wallet to the match it has a day off, cash only on matchdays .
