Took some advice off here did an acca on finishing 1st but did each way of 3 places ( I presume this means come in second or 3rd for 1/4 odds, but bet 365 not giving me a cash out at all tight fuckers

Don’t understand how we can be 14-1 now when we’re right in the mix, when the best I could get before the season was 16-1 when everyone was predicting we’d struggle.

Did this back at the beginning of the season, with some advice of this thread, I’ve just checked and we’re 11/2 which isn’t bad as we currently sit 3rd with a game in hand on second place

Leeds are 1/16 for promotion...that's a fantastic laying opportunity for someone with a bigger bank balance than me (and a bigger ballsack)

They're bound to fall apart at some point, it's what they do
That's a return of just over 6%.

You could get 5% just by sticking the cash in a bank account, so you'd have to be mad to bet against Leeds falling apart again for a gain of around 1%

Laying, not backing.

See the chat with Nuddy a few posts above!

As much as it would be absolutely hilarious I can’t see Leeds fucking it up this season.

They look comfortably the best team atm

For those talking about backing and laying, this is the current Betfair Exchange market on promotion from the Championship.

If you want to back Leeds to be promoted (which obviously includes both automatic promotion and promotion via the play-offs) you can have £28 on at 1.17, a further £45 at 1.16 and £210 at 1.15.

1.17 equates to odds of 17/100, 1.16 to odds of 16/100 and so on.

If you don’t think Leeds will go up you can “lay” them. In other words, take the bet from someone who wants to back them to be promoted but doesn’t want to accept the price currently offered. An individual or a number of individuals want to back Leeds for promotion at 1.18 (or 18/100) and there is £275 requesting that price. If you want to take that bet in full it would cost you £49.50.

If you have £28 on Leeds to be promoted at 1.17 and they do go up, you’d get your stake back plus winnings of £4.76. You’d pay a small commission (typically 2%) on your winnings, so about £0.09. Obviously, if they don’t go up you lose your £28.

If you lay Leeds for the full £275 at 1.18 and they go up you lose your £49.50. If they “fall apart again” you pocket £275 (less £5.50 commission) in addition to getting your stake back.IMG_1271.webp

I've never had that explained in a way where I've understood it so much, so simply.

Cheers!

Anyone else who’s had a bet on United on one of the bookies’ Championship handicaps will be pleased to note that we’re doing pretty well at this stage. This is the Bet365 market before the season started. Other firms will have had slightly different numbers but they were all broadly in line with each other and, on the Bet365 handicap, the current top six are United 92 points, Sunderland 87, Blackburn 82, Bristol City 81, Burnley 80 and Millwall 78. At the bottom are Luton on 41, 13 points adrift of the nearest club (Stoke). Even for those not interested in betting, it’s an interesting snapshot of how teams have actually performed in relation to what was expected of them.

I think get ya insurance bets on, £10 Leeds and Burnley each week, if they win, you win, if they don't, fucking yes, WIN WIN
