Hammond's was an even better chance than I thought. We had a few other decent half chances first half too as well as Coutts's shot.

Those two chances and the goal (in that order) all did come in the first five minutes of the second half. I think that was a plan: come flying out of the blocks and really go at them.

I'd like to see their header at the death to see how close it was.

I'd like to see their header at the death to see how close it was.

Don't understand that not making it to the highlights! I'd also like to see the Basham incident with two or three of their players climbing all over him and how it led to their free kick. Not sure whether it was deemed obstruction (didn't know whether an indirect free kick was given) or whether it was handball - I thought it should have been a drop ball - a proper one, not one of those namby pamby give it back to the oopposition things

Looked fairly even from the highlights and stats (if we just shaded it). Bad misses at both ends.

Billy Sharp impressed me 4 times in so few highlights.

1. Lovely ball into the path of Coutts on the right - right timing, pace, right into his stride.
2. Dummy for Woolford strike
3. Clever ball to far post for Done to knock in, but he just missed it
4. The goal - brilliant.

Long worried me 3 times but he's allowed that.

He did. He had some energy. Burst past a couple of players at one point. Still shirked some recovery work (if I'm reading the game properly) but his game is developing after being out for so long.

Agreed. First half there were the two chances on the highlights but another 4 or 5 decent efforts and one speculative punt from Billy. Another day one or even two go in and it looks much more convincing.

I agree ,but that's football in general ,like someone said earlier what Souness said ,everything is cautious and sideways, so frustrating. He is a player though who will get better and better providing he stays clear on injury. Takes great corners too.
