Donny have "looked in his direction" but have a bid in for another striker.

Scunny are apparently already in discussions to sign him.

Sell sell sell!!!

Yes finally someone wants to buy him.

Don't think the word would be "sell", more of a free.

I think the main stumbling block for any of them would be his wages, unless he's willing to take a big drop.

can we sell HORSEfield and NAYsmith to them :D:D

HORSE!!!!!

Further on the BBC.............

Veteran Sheffield United striker Geoff Horsfield has been in talks over a move to Championship rivals Scunthorpe.
The 34-year-old joined the Blades for £1.2m in May 2006 but has failed to feature in a league game for them.

He spent most of last season on loan at Leeds and Leicester, and has played just two Carling Cup games this term.

"Geoff has been speaking to Scunthorpe so hopefully things could happen there," Blades manager Bryan Robson told his club's website.

"At his age, Geoff needs to be playing and really needs a permanent move because there are a lot of forwards in front of him here."

Horsfield has made over 300 league appearances in a career that has also taken him to Halifax, Fulham, Birmingham, Wigan and West Bromwich Albion.

This whole saga has to go down as one of the most ridiculous in football. :D:D:D

Scunthorpe's hopes of signing Sheffield United striker Geoff Horsfield appear to be over.

Reports in Sheffield suggest the 34-year-old front man has been unable to agree terms with the Iron.He has now been linked with League One side Doncaster.

Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins declined to comment on the reports but the Scunthorpe Telegraph believes Horsfield's future is still far from resolved.

As the transfer window enters its final week next week, things are likely to come to a head sooner rather than later.

But if Horsfield has snubbed United, it will be a big disappointment to Adkins, who had been impressed with the veteran front man when the pair met earlier in the week.

"I want to bring players in with the same hunger and enthusiasm that we already have in this squad," Adkins told the Telegraph after speaking to Horsfield.

"When I looked him in the eye, I could see that Geoff has that hunger."
