Lets face McCabe wants out or at least says he does but yet still seems to be here. I reckon the Prince ideally would have liked to take full control (the same for any potential new owner) of the club but he would rightly want more than McCabe is prepared to give away e.g. the ground etc.



I agree but that said Wilder is a Blades fan and many of us think the board is clueless.

Tufty is not one of those. They appointed him. We could have had Wally Downes. Wally Fucking Downes.

The biggest bollock dropped by Adkins was the signing of Hammond. Maybe if he had recognised his mistake sooner and offered Hammond a player/coach role and gone looking for a new midfielder in January he would have saved himself.

Whatever he did elsewhere, and however impressive that looks on his CV overall, I'm afraid our abiding memory of him will always be foisting Hammond upon us and then exacerbating the disaster by trying to tell the supporters what they were seeing (i.e. a player who had "gone") was not what they were seeing at all.
It is one thing making mistakes, for everyone who does anything at all will make them, but not admitting it and then telling people they are basically stupid (surely the "invisible work" comment will haunt him forever) is guaranteed to alienate just about everyone.

As for Scougs, I think he was fantastic alongside Coady and has never (not even this season) recaptured that level of performance since CC departed.

As other posters have said his performances in NC second season were mediocre at best. Think it is more likely he thought he might have been on CW "get rid list", the kick up the arse he needed. Can he make the step up to the Championship probably not but we have quite a few of those, we will cross that bridge when and if we get there.

He won't be getting a new contract if we get promoted, we will need better players. He's working hard now to do himself out of a job.

A lot more of players who win promotion suffer that fate and we the fans expect loyalty off them.
