Scougall vs Baxter

Baxter is to good to be on the bench and our most creative player even if he can be frustrating at times. Competition can only be a good thing to get the best out of both of them. Higdon and Baxter could be a partnership that really works this season both will score goals.

Surely we don't have to make a blanket choice between them. They are as different as chalk and cheese. Scoogs is like a wasp, buzzing around at great speed winning the ball and making fast surges at the opposition, whereas Baxter is not as energetic (fit) but has a better eye for a pass or shot at goal. The opposition may dictate who is preferred in certain matches but I like having the contrasting styles working together whenever we can. I think that others may be better to make way to play them both with a hard man in midfield to protect them. Perhaps Wallace can be that man when fit.

Higdon and Baxter could be a partnership that really works this season both will score goals.

On paper I'd like to see one of those paired with McNulty. It'd be horribly immobile otherwise.

Baxter's the better player of the two, no question. While Scougall was good last year at times I think he's massively overrated by some. I'd like us to continue with Baxter/McNulty rather than bringing back Higdon.

I think an extra option should be added to the poll, which should be 'Whoever is in form, the type of match and opposition being faced also being taken into consideration (chosen formation also being a factor)'.

With the squad we have we don't need to make definitive decisions.

I think last nights victory will have done the squad the world of good. Stick with the same team this Saturday as much as possible, maybe Higdon in for McNulty.

Really don't rate Scougall at all. I know I am in a minority of 1 !!!!!
