Christ knows , before the last one I knew we would be succeptible to their aerial bombardments as Simmo was flapping and our 2 cb's were looking nervy

Now I have no such fears whereas then their strengths were our weaknesses now I feel confident we can combat that and will only be undone by a mOment of quality and I don't think they posses the players to produce that

My pessimism thinks Evans will get crocked or sent off on Tues and so will miss the derby match. Get through the next 7 days and then start concentrating on the 26th.

The pigs seem to have lost their way of late. They were lucky not to lose at home v Yeovil and lost at lowly Exeter Saturday. Their strikers are simply not scoring and at the moment, their only shining light is the in form Jermaine Johnson. If he has a good game, he will be handful and we may struggle with his pace. I believe they are the ones with far more to worry about though. We have one of the best strikers in the league in Evans who is free scoring. We have Hoskins who they are truly terrified of and midfielders who are very capable on their day.

I know form goes out of the window somewhat, but it is still a footy match and IMO, we are better than them.

Play the football we know we can for ninety minutes, they have more to worry about. We have to be wary of giving away silly free kicks, almost their only weapon, hassle elbows Johnson get him frustrated, he`ll lose it.


Get the crowd on their backs it could be a nice sight 30,000 whining Owls, masses leaving early.

Might depend on how we do tomorrow night and on Sat-di. Derby games always difficult to score, though I actually fancy us to get a result. If we play like we can we might win. If we play football, we can run rings round them. However they may bully us out of the game. If the ref lets them get away with murder (like last time) and we get sucked into a hoof battle (like last time) then they may beat us. We need to be really disciplined (not silly fouls in our own half) and cut out the individual mistakes. I would have Collins, Maguire and Simmo dealing with high balls the whole of the week before in training. We looked comfortable dealing with their arial bomabaardment last time, right until they scored (a mistake). We are playing better than when we last met and they are struggling. We have momentum and are playing at a good time (touchwood - as this may be affected by Huddersfield). If we get a result tomorrow night, then we can go into this really confident and take all 3 points. I'd be happy with a draw though.

Agree 100% (except the prediction)- especially about the not giving free kicks away.. The last thing we need is balls hoofed into our area.
Thats their only chance. We need to keep to DW's gameplan and not get drawn into how they play.

However I think we can beat them this time and for once in a derby I am slightly optimistic about winning at the sty.
I know that the more deluded piggies will think they have already won 5-0 but I think the more sensible ones, the minority mind, won't be as keen to play us....

I'd not be unhappy with a draw but I feel that we will win by a goal or two
