Saw every minute of Lee Baxter's career for us.

Whilst holding my head, the phrase "I don't believe it, he's fucking done it again" springs to mind.

Thanks for the memories.

Trym Bergman seems a bit of a lad, we missed out on him

Trym Bergman

Bergman remained at his hotel in Sheffield and had little to do apart from staying in the room while using quite a bit of snus, the Scandinavian equivalent to snuff. After a couple of days he’d almost filled up the rubbish bin with the dark brown powder. When arriving Bolton he noticed the usual English friendliness was gone. Despite an assist in his trial game he was subbed at half time and told Bolton wouldn’t be offering him anything. Later his agent called and said he’d been accused of shitting in the rubbish bin at his hotel room in Sheffield. The cleaning lady had never seen snus before and reported the disgusting behaviour to Sheffield United, who then told Bolton. Bergman tried to explain what it was, but Bolton said the decision had been made, and he was sent home

Brilliant

Without sounding disrespectful. The barrel has been scraped with the midfield and subs bench.

I think it's remarkable how many Scandinavians have tried their luck at United, and there's an element of disappointment connected with most, maybe all players.

Some of the names are quite puzzling and make you think 'how on earth did they pick out him', as they haven't been young, nor stood out at all domestically, despite trialling at times when we've been challenging for promotion to the Premiership.

We should probably search in Denmark next time, or stick to Scots! :)

Did Tore Andre Flo not come to Bramall Lane for a trial of sorts during Jostein's time? Seem to remember Bassett saying they'd love to sign him but he was at University at the time.

I've never seen this confirmed. I remember listening to a radio interview with him where he said he'd just visited Jostein in Sheffield, but did not train with United. If he ever trialed it may have been a bit later, or he may have been told not to mention it.

I seem to remember Basset showing interest but Mrs Flo (his mother) talked him out of joining to finish his University studies first. That goes to show that mothers really do know best
