The 70's was the ultimate era for US cop shows, if ever a US TV network were short of ideas, but had budget to spend, they made a "quirky" cop show.

Ironside - wheelchair
Longstreet - blind
Baretta - lived alone with a parrot
Canon - fat
McCloud - Texan cowboy cop, cowboy hat and horse, in the big city
Columbo - disheveled tramp
Kojak - shaved head, aviator sunglasses (often indoors) three piece suit and sucked lolipops.
Barnaby Jones - ageing pensioner
McMillan and Wife - Police chief and wife (half his age) solve crimes
Chips - two motorbike cops in tighter than tight uniforms
Starsky and Hutch
Hawaii five o
Rockford Files
Charlies angels
Streets of San Francisco
Harry O
Quincy

Heard they were once on about doing a cop show down at Swillsborough - Hillbilly Street Blues

S S of P.
Anyway only two real life coppers on TV-

George Dixon and Andy.

I always found it ironic that Robert Wagner solved mysterious as part of the Hart to Hart duo.

I don't usually post but i was in family court yesterday an over heard him talkin to his dad about a couple of their players.dont know what his name is he was about 28 a scouser an plays midfield.he was. Slaggin off one of there forwards.saying what do you expect he came from Hartlepool fc.sorry didn't get names but they can't have that many scouse mids or ex Hartlepool forwards.

did he have to inform his dad he was a midfielder??? just wandering how you knew he was a midfielder, that seems a rather bizarre conversation

although often when my dad calls, i introduce myself as his son, the alcohloic fat bastard

My life is a lot better now I’ve read this thread. Thank you so much for posting

"Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there!
He wasn't there again today,
Oh how I wish he'd go away!"
