hardly a surprise , managers have to achieved something , hed started well at donny , but hadnt really achieved anything to warrant wolves taking the risk

same with us and Morgan , can we afford to let him hone his skills here , not if we want to compete

I don't want him, but I think we will get him. As I mentioned a while back, he ticks all the McCabe boxes (he'll be cheap, he's an "ex-Blade", he's a relatively well known name etc etc).

For grins:

OwenCoyle for me ,2nd choice Robinson 3rd Allan. What the fucking hell is Blackwell doing on there ?

Is there anyone who would please us all? At the moment we can't cherry pick our preferred option. If we want a 'name' it will have to be one who has fallen from the top jobs or we go with a new manager who may have playing experience or a man who has plied his trade on leagues 1 and 2 to date. For me it would be McCall (why would he want to come though?) or Robinson. Saunders has shown he can put together a promotion winning team so he may be worth a shot.

I'd have Yeovil's manager top of the list, if his contract is due to expire. After him, I'd go with your list in order.

Alan Irvine, first time I've laughed since 1.30 yesterday

Are any of them drinking buddies with McCabe in Spain?

I agree. If Yeovil don't go up, surely we can tempt him away from them. I presume we can pay him a lot more than they are paying him and, despite yesterday, long term we have far more potential.

His career has as many ups and downs as most others touted for the job though Dazzler. Easy to cherry pick the good times, but since he left Bristol City, the last few years have been less than impressive, not forgetting he almost took Northampton out of the football league.

Yes, I just checked his Wiki page. You're right, I am guilty of a knee-jerk "he's done well this season so he must be good" response.

Having said that, a man who can take Yeovil (average crowds 4000) to the bring of the second tier must have some managerial ability....

I only remember that because my mate is a Northampton fan ! I can remember his Bristol City team destroying us at their place a few years ago, possibly under Robson and yep, when he gets teams playing they do look good but I didn't see a particularly fluent team in the two games last weekend and I don't think he'd be a stand-out choice.

Well, he got a team with extremely limited resources into the play off final - he seems exactly what we need!
