Same old tactics, same old results

If he’s successful it’s likely he’ll work the length of his contract to 2028, if he isn’t that takes care of itself.

That’s football.

Either way the current owners need to get know U.K. football better and start working on who would be best to take the club forwards.
I think the contract is until 2027? Might be wrong on that. That’s not actually that long term. My feeling, and it’s nothing more than that, is he’ll be gone before that. The next appointment is going to be absolutely crucial, a DOF has to be involved.

When his over lapping full back tactic had finished its course and was rumbled by everyone, he left.
When he returned, he came back with new tactics that whilst not easy on the eye, were effective up to the Plymouth game last season.
The two play off games, and the first half of the final were a breath of fresh air.... however the second half we reverted to post Plymouth, and he left again with his tactics found out.
The third coming of the messiah I was hoping that like on his second return, he had reflected on having one up front and hoping to keep the opposition out and hoping Hamer could pull a rabbit out of his arse was a tactic that everyone knew how to combat and he'd come back with some fresh ideas......

It would appear he hasn't, the press conference seems to suggest we just need more time on the training pitch. If more time on the training pitch means more players up front and not selecting his favourites no matter what, Im all for it.

Who would you play up top considering Ings is nowhere near fitness and a crock, Campbell is out of shape, and Cannon has been rubbish at United. Bear in mind Ings and Campbell will struggle to do 90 minutes (even more so in two to three game weeks) with you needing substitute options too. I can only think.of chucking One up regularly (a huge ask) or persisting will Cannon and hoping it clicks with one of him and Campbell/Ings. Then hook the knackered Campbell for Ings/One to finish games.

I'm not convinced Cannon and another gives us more than an extra attacking midfielder although I'm not against trying different things.

The way we played yesterday hull was for the taking but still after going 1 down persisted with 1 up front .Shocking from wilder to leave it as long as he did

Interesting stat on Sky yesterday, the last time we came from behind to win was away at Swansea in January, against 10 men. I looked out of interest & the only other time we came from behind to win last season was Bristol City away, who also ended with 10 men.

That fragility & inability to turn a game around is not a new thing this season. We were just as weak last season & rarely turned a game around, we just scored the first goal more often.

You're obsessed with the appointment of a DOF even though many of the top sides don't have one.

Any manager should be allowed to manage without interference from someone who doesn't get sacked if it goes wrong.

I'm not saying it won't work but FFS it's by no means the magic bullet you bang on about.

Which top sides don’t have either a DOF or Technical Director? If a manager is left to their own devices the majority of decisions, understandably because they are human, are for the short term. That’s why successful clubs no longer do it. Maybe try living in this century.

This has been done to death. 90 percent of teams have a DOF involved. Whether they’re called a DOF, Sporting Director or Technical Director.. it’s the same thing.
