All took longer than a week.
Agree some of ours do seem to take along time, but we might not actually be interested in these players.
It's all down to social media I'm afraid.
Bring back the good old days when you found out about all transfers in the Star.
"Blades Swoop for Southend Ace" Headlines on the side of the Stand where the man sold the Stars in town.

Now you're Talking CHRIS FUCKIN GUTHRIE !!!!

If he's crap, Coalman Lavatry, I might copyright it.
Think the Carol Lavetry option will be cw's fall back after getting told to jog on re Matty Taylor

I'm lost, Sunjihi sez 2 more and we're now discussing Grant, Lavetry, Baldwin, Taylor, Morsy and Beevers

Not avin a go R but dint Sunjihi say 2 and he gave them names Morsy and Grant. Where from that info do we get Baldwin, Matty Taylor and Lavetry?

Sounds like the Lavvy rumour has some foundation tho

marsh blade you owe us. Get onto your insider and clarify Morsy, grant, Baldwin, Taylor and Lavatry

Thx Mrs Marple for the forensics ;) but I was eluding to the "then we" as a collective forum start discussing two others and Balwin, Lavetry and Taylor joined the snowballing fray.

That's all :)

Might have been used (spelling aside) already ST custom and practice ;)

The two games we tried to get the ball on the floor was Bolton and Crewe and I'd say Fleck was comfortably our best player, the game where we continued to go long which was on Saturday against Rochdale he hardly got a touch, now unless we get the ball on the floor then there is no point in Fleck playing. This brings me onto Morsy, he also likes the ball on the floor so if we were to bring him in would we then have to look at our strike force plus the whole set-up and change things around? I'm praying Morsy is coming in because I won't be able to put up with Saturdays' display too much this season, it was fucking awful mate. Try not to criticise Fleck to much as I think he'll be a cracking signing for us, you little Flecker. ;)

No criticism mate. I give players a lot longer than two games (I didn't go against Crewe but did Bolton and Rochdale). For example I've only just given up on Basham after two years benefit of the doubt....Long, I'm afraid, is way beyond redemption though there were no ironic cheers and stuff from me and I don't agree with it either but he simply has to be replaced.

Just slightly disappointed after the hype on here. You know I like proper footballers and he [Fleck{ is one. From what I have seen (very very little I accept) I regard Morsy as a better player. Not only that, he's a giant at 5-9! :) However, footballing midfielders may as well sit next to me if we "launch it down the defenders' throats" to use Tufty's own words.

Three in this week I hear. Grant and Lavery for two. Wonder who the other? A commanding big Shawcross CB and a CM still both essential for me.

What you say?

I used to watch training on the Ball Inn ground and Chris Guthrie looked a world beater....sadly it was only in training! :)
Remember his debut on the same day we opened the 'new' (South / whatever the f'@@@ its called now) stand.
Ran Roy McFarland (then England C/H) ragged in a1-1 draw.
Then saw him net hat trick (all headers?) at Hafilax (4-2) - last I knew he was kit man @ Newcastle

I think we need a CM and a GK, these are my essentials. After that we could do with another CB, although I'm relatively happy with the two playing there at the moment, especially O'Connell and possibly another out and out winger. I'm not writing Chapman off, I just think we're really short in this department.

I say I'm relatively happy with the two CBs' because if you look at the chances created against us in all three games I don't think there has been many conceded at all, even though we were shite on Saturday.

Morsy would be a great addition to the squad.

Loyalty and wanting to be here is secondary to what he contributes on the pitch. Judging by everything we can see it doesn't even look like he wants to be here anyway. Sentiment can't dictate, and it seems to with many when it comes to Brayford. Suggestions that he'll get back to his best are based mainly on blind faith.

He was as unimpressive before he got the injury, when we first signed him. Shit team or not, he showed no signs of improvement at all, and he had long enough to do so.

If we could get rid of those players that would be great, but we can't! It's very well documented. Only Scougall and McNulty could be moved on 'cleanly'. I'd sell Scougall. In reality we're going to have to make sacrifices to assemble a decent team - and that's something that's higher on my priority list than the unlikely prospect of seeing a beardy right back rediscover his old form.

Is selling Sméagol a "sacrifice" ?
