they were all about a week of wrangling. ours take a season! .. and they still don't come here

All took longer than a week.
Agree some of ours do seem to take along time, but we might not actually be interested in these players.
It's all down to social media I'm afraid.
Bring back the good old days when you found out about all transfers in the Star.
"Blades Swoop for Southend Ace" Headlines on the side of the Stand where the man sold the Stars in town.

Nowadays the Star finds about all transfers on here, eh James ;)

It's rumoured that Wigan have offered/will offer Morsy AND cash for Brayford.

In which case I re-iterate, especially in the wake of yesterday's performance, that we simply MUST accept any such deal. It would be madness not to.
You could be right Ricky and most players go into a slump when they know they are going to be sold Brayford not himself , Che was the same.

I've posted many times that I want Morsy (putting height issues of the team aside) then I've been critical of signing him if he doesn't want to come but stay at Wigan. Someone posted they were ITK and really wants to join blades and wouldn't talk to Scunny.

If that's the case could it be a negotiation ploy ie if he agreed to go his compensation would be limited but if he went kicking and screaming crying foul play he could get a better severance package from Wigan for willingly terminating his contract early!

So I've decided it's ok to sign him after all CW

Is it only me who is starting to have doubts about Morsy being the right midfielder partner for fleck. To be we should be maybe looking at someone in the mould of Coady or will Fleck take that role

It's not just you, I think he'll be a huge disappointment if he ever gets here.

We need to stop worrying about all this partnership stuff. Everyone saying we need a big lad, an attacking CM so Fleck can sit, an enforcer, someone with an engine etc.

No we don't, we need a quality CM! It's as simple as that for me. If they're good enough they'll form a partnership over time. Iniesta and Xavi weren't the biggest guys in the world but seemed to do okay.

Morsy and Fleck would be the best CM's in the division IMO

But there are no goals there, and after looking at the first few games of the season are we going to get them from our wide players?

we wont because we haven't played with any wide midfielders or winder so far

I would think it would be a bit more like the McDonald and Doyle partnership of 2011-2013. Fleck in the McDonald role and Morsy in the Doyle role.

I reckon Fleck will get us a few goals this season. His shooting out the box is something we needed badly. Deflections, sweet strikes... as long as they go in i do not care how it is scored. His sweet left foot will get us a few

Aaah that memorable day when it was announced we`d signed Richard Cadette.
That turned out well as I recall.:)

Bought with Blades revival money. Is it my imagination or did Reg Brealey stand on a stage at the Roxy imploring us this scheme would change SUFC!

Cadette was a hideous player. Looked like he had never played football in his life. Scored odd goal but he was never the player he was pre and even post Blades. Another Blades jinx. Barry Hayles did the same some years later who reminded me of Cadette.

'Blades swoop for Southend ace' takes me further back and that great lummox Chris Guthrie.

Barry Hayles had a stormer for Fulham in the Cancer fundraiser pre season when Beany managed the Blades for the day and Gary Sinclair won it for us with the final penalty.

Thought at the time he was better than when he was with us.

Show some respect. The poor guy's barely cold and already you're misspelling his name. It was the same when Michael Tongue passed away at the Bramhall Lane Retirement Home.

Did you go to Connor Sammon's burial? Poor bastard missed the hole by about five feet.

Wonder how many babies have been born or how many people have died during the running of this thread ! Our next door neighbour gave birth today and I am sure she wasn't even pregnant when this thread started !!!
If he signs I give it 2 weeks till someone starts a "waste of money" thread as the poor fella has been built up to be as good as Messi during the 84 pages so the only way for him is downhill !!
As ever UTB!!
