I've been banned for saying he should be sacked.

Foxy'll have to ban a whole lot more now.

Fucking incredible.

Board are going to have to make a big decision before January in all likelihood...more instability and another shit manager sacked, or keep him, pray that we stay up, and have a summer player clear out? Glad I don't have to make the decision..cos I am sure Id sack him...even though it looks like only shit is around to replace him.

But as has been mentioned before, no sacking in recent memory has led to an improvement, bar the Weir sacking. Adkins is a proven manager.

In the shoutbox people were saying that we need to get someone in who's a bit mean and nasty, a Bassett / Warnock type - Evans or Wesley were named as examples. Someone who won't play nice football but will make us kick and fight our way out of this league.

I think we still need to give Adkins time, and keep him even if we don't make the Play Offs. But if relegation looks a real possibility, we need to get a Mr Nasty in

Agree hello , up to this evening I have backed him but after witnessing that I just don't know what to do for the best !! Who would be a realistic manager alternative ?????
As ever UTB

Why would Warnock leave a nicely paid job at QPR to come to this and work with scraps.

As pissed off as I am I genuinely can't think of a positive move let alone a complete solution.

As dkc said, only the Weir sacking has led anywhere, before that it was probably the sacking of Heath. Other than that it has been a disaster zone.

how he deals with this will make or break him
i'm awaiting the interview and subsequent team selections with interest

i think mr adkins has a huge problem on his hands not only has he inherited a bad team but the majority of the players he has signed have not added any positivity to the situation, i have seen in the past groups of average players that together make good teams and better players that come together and form poor teams unfortunately we have a defence that dont know the art of defending together and just ball watch. a midfield that is poor at the defensive side and not so good at loading the gun for the strikers. and to top it all off a toothless center forward in salmon sharpe and done stuttering at his side.I think we need a goalkeeper, 2 center halfs 1 more solid full back 2 dominant midfielders and a big strong center forward to aid billy sharpe or matt doane all this and get them to gel after the new year , good luck nigel !

Anyone who got the managers job when Adkins did and still had not addressed the glaring inadequacies at the heart of the defence by late November, is not fit to call themselves a manager.
Adkins tries to portray himself as some sort of intellectual thinking mans manager, but I don't think he has got any respect in the game, possibly due to his physio beginnings. He certainly seems unable to motivate or command the respect of this lot and I seriously wonder if he can attact the quality of player required, to Bramall Lane.
Personally, I am not confident in his judgement in any aspect of the managerial role, I hope the board accept they've slipped up and pay him off in preference to giving him control of similar funds to spend in January, as that could be a disaster from which we may never recover :(

They should be playing for their careers though if their contracts are up. So why do they play like they that? Lack of ability I guess. Needs a big shake up I'd drop 5 or 6 for next match and get at least 2 new faces in.

I am afraid that result has finished Adkins, whether it's tomorrow, next week or in the next month, that result won't be forgiven.

So who's next then?

Difficult decision for the board bearing in mind their track record. Luckily for them Adkins has given them no option. We all know the excuses will be rolled out but in reality the manager has failed and is showing no sign whatsoever he is able to turn things round. Tonight was the last straw, Adkins has clearly lost the plot, get rid now and we still have an outside chance of going up, keep him and it's going to be a long and painful season but with the same inevitable outcome.

His mistake is not having a big clear out in the summer, giving players a chance even though we all knew they weren't good enough.
Apart from Sharp his signings have been pretty poor and he has lost the plot now.
