5 years ago today we was beating Newcastle at St James Park.

Today we lost to Stevenage.

Time for McCabe to go, he is the one who has presided over this freefall.

Keep on like this and we will be in car park again by Christmas

Yep - McCabe out - he's well & truly fucked us up. Anyone else can only be an improvement.

What are your reasons for wanting the board sacked?

Is it

a) making poor managerial choices?
b) not providing managers with enough funds?
c) allowing managers to overspend?

A & C, mainly.

Not DW though, I think he's going to cop the sharp end of the stick we should be sticking in McCabe (figuratively speaking of course!)

If we're left with c, did the fans voice their concerns at the time of the overspending?

Most didn't. Most got over excited when we committed to adding tens of milions to our already huge debt pile in order to win the right to host 3 low grade world cup matches. But then again, not being in control of the finances, most trusted that McCabe knew what he was doing.

The shame is, after allowing Robson to ruin us, we still went on to allow managers to cast out huge 4 year contracts to the likes of Cresswell. By that time, most had had enough. Not our Chairman though.

Er yeah I'm with Brownie ............. just go, McCabe and take the football club you own with you............

That being the problem. We can't exactly sack anyone and who the feck would even thinking of taking this on?!

The reality is that McCabe is owed a load by the club. We need / expect him to write it off. God help us if he actually starts drawing on some of those 10% p.a. loans that are "just an accounting thing".

mccabe will only leave the lane when he`s in a pine box.
so weve a while to go with him yet im afraid.

Are you sure? There was little criticism on here from what I can remember. When Blackwell spent most of his budget on fantastic deals for Morgan, Monty, Quinn and Cresswell, my impression was that most fans were fine with it.

Actually, when the deals were signed, all you can do is speculate about how much we've blown. It's only in subsequent accounts that you can start to calculate how much the players are earning.

Football fans come out with some right shite. But "I'm really glad we offered 31 year old Richard Cresswell a 4 year contract worth £3Million" wasn't uttered by many, I can assure you.

Personally, I'd lost faith before insanity set in and we bid for the WC. But you're right, many clapped along.

Not suprising that fans are happy when they tie up, at the time, the best striker in the cub. I maintain my point about it taking subsequent accounts to expose just how much we've paid the players.

Either way, fans will always encourage spending. That doesn't justify those actually in control running up an unmanageable debt pile.

For a man with a supposedly astute business brain, he has made some shocking errors.

Here is just a few of the mistakes he made

- Terry Robinson
- Not backing Warnock enough in the Premiership
- Bryan Robson
- James Beattie on £40k a week in the Championship
- Lee Hendrie on £20k a week in the Championship
- Investing in attempting to make Sheffield United a global brand when we wasn't an established Premiership Club
- Sacking Blackwell, 2 League matches in to a season
- Gary Speed
- Spending too much in trying to attract Casino Narnia
- Spending too much in trying to attract the World Cup
- Blades Realty
- The Copthorne Hotel
- Trevor Birch

Apart from one solitary season in the Premiership look what we have achieved under his reign, absolutely jack shit.

If he was as big a blade as he proclaims himself to be, he would write off the loans as a bad gamble, and walk away and admit that he made a huge mistake instead of making money out of the loans he 'gave' the club on a hefty APR.

The situation we find ourselves are down to one man's bad judgement, and that man is McCabe

Thing is, if the club owes so much to McCabe, what the floating, flying fuck has he spent it on? We ditched the biggest prospects when we got relegated from the prem and clung onto ones which, let's face it, have turned into dogshit. Monty - bobbins, Quinn - more cold than hot, Morgan - well, I doubt he'll be the defensive lion he was when he returns. Beattie came and went ... and can anyone here remind me about this ... were we not owed some cash from the Tevez business? I say that, because in earnest, it was the club, team and fans that suffered because of that little cheating dickhead, and I seem to remember back in 2008 fielding all sorts of abuse over it and feeling rather comfortable that £25m was inbound, even if it was over a number of years. Where the fuck is it? Have we built a new stand or summat? Did we buy three £1m midfielders and a brace of decent defenders? Speaking of which, what happened to the Kyles? Did we make jack shit from the sale of two cracking PL or thereabouts wingbacks?

Wilderness years? Go McCabe, before you fuck the club I love up even more. We'll never make the Championship with him and Wilson. Believe me.

Agree with most of that aprt from not backing Warnock....Warnock was backed with plenty of money but wasted money in that January transfer window on Shelton and Fathi instead of getting someone in to back Hulse up. Warnock was also backed on wages

Don't forget the money he wasted in the 12 months previous on Akinbiyi,Horsfield,Flitcroft etc. Don't forget he didn't have the common sense to have a recall clause on Horsefield

Warnock blew it

I 100% agree. But the huge loans have us by the balls.

So if we recieved £25m from the Premiership season, and £25m from the Tevez saga, that gives us at least £50m before you even consider how much we are in debt now.

How the fuck did not manage to live within our means with that amount of money coming in to the club, illustrates my point beautifully.

I guess on wages, relegation and other parts of the empire. Certainly not on players.

Managers have been given budgets. They have decided how to spend it. Like 22k a week on Sun Jihai, that's more than £1,1m for his 11 starts. Apparantly.

Somebody higher than the manager has to authorise that wage.

Agree, I've wanted us to have a Director of Football to oversee such things. A real football man, not a bunch of business men. How would things have been if Graham Taylor had accepted the job offer?
