Not a lot of interest on here these days; not a lot of controversy; manager doing most things right; only one goal against in 4 league games; playing positive football; good signings; smiles back on faces; all despite some injuries to key players, indeed our best players perhaps.

Some members trying to create interest as best they can with new threads which to be kind are a bit "thin", thanks for that Blades.

Nothing like a life of contentment dare I say, refreshing goodwill and harmony. Nigel Adkins, you have made a good start. Long may it continue.

P.S. Yes I know, this OP is a bit "thin", call it "reflective" maybe.

This season , i have the gut feeling , it is not a lull before the storm.

Get them loans signings in , and its even more happy days.

As the season progresses we will start to hold our breath to the point of turning blue waiting for a slip up. And unexpected defeats will happen, look at Bristol last season vs us at their ground, the board will light up when the defeats come!

He starts every other thread, so hard not to...

I've started 3 on this Forum since August 12th, sorry Radio if that's "every other thread", I did say the Forum was quiet!!;)Maybe you need to re-tune.

Or is there an "o'meter" for absolute silly nonsense??

You think too much.

I don't necessarily think we will. That's another good thing about having a positive, progressive manager / team / club. Look at the difference between being 2-0 this season compared to last season. Last season we were biting our nails whenever we were ahead. Not so much this season.

come on guys.. i'm bored shitless out here. this site keeps me sane :D

Having to resort to the General Chat board thanks to bloody Nigel & his bloody postponements, the negative twat

(I'm being ironic. The General Chat board doesn't need resorting to, it's great. ...)

its not become boring , just less prone to ridicule of the team
people can see the obvious improvements, the togetherness , a sense of direction and purpose

from wandering round the pitch like nomads it looks like theyve all got the latest sat navs telling them where to go
whats needed is dropping an unnecessary point and the place will be flooded

Or "boring" maybe? :D

Maybe, maybe not.

In actual fact you started a thread using my name and which I thought was really desperate, but as I say, live and let live, so I said nothing.

There are all sorts of Blades and all sorts of perspectives. I would never call anybody boring because I respect people and their right to say what they are thinking. Your thread was desperate though!! but at a time when there's little to feed off - the main point of the OP in fact. ;)

Anyway thanks for starting loads of threads, it helps the site tick along, boring or not:p.

I know many of us cabbages have begun recent seasons feeling cravenly upbeat, but I really think we are going to beast this division this year. We MIGHT be a centre-half short of dominating Lg 3 from pre-Christmas.

Regretting saying most of this already, and 100% prepared to look very stupid quite quickly, but what the hell.

Very happy to let silence reign ...

...

only till ..................................

Sheffield United will resurrect their interest in Dan Burn when the emergency loan window opens on Wednesday, The Star understands.

Burn had been set to join Nigel Adkins’ side from Fulham before the deadline for permanent signings last week but the transfer stalled due to an undisclosed contractual issue.

But with both clubs determined to push the deal through, United hope to unveil the defender later this month. Burn and his representative are also thought to have signalled their approval when Bramall Lane’s hierarchy were granted permission to open talks.

Oh I'm having you on by "ironically" using the title of your thread and.... oh never mind

Desperate? - little bit extreme, started that one for some bantz, y'know it's a larf innit....... :tumbleweed:
Maybe we should have some about some more weightier issues like wars v religion and the current refugee crisis, ISIS and Syria..... you start it then.

Bantz done to death time and time again, really "boring" and tedious, just like the Kevin McCabe "bantz" you started too.

Just realised you're a new poster and wouldn't wish to discourage you though. Like I say in the O.P. it can help the forum tick along in quiet times, everyone can take it or leave it.

Judging by the number of responses that thread had, many would disagree.
I don't mind you thinking my threads are boring and tedious and I'm sure you don't mind that I think you appear to very sensitive to what you perceive to be criticism. Perhaps not everyone is as serious about this stuff as you are.

Yes, I'm fairly new so you'll have to forgive me if I trot out the same old threads that have been done to death but there will be many others like myself that haven't had those discussions yet.

I do react to smart-arse comments because I think they can be cheap shots and totally unnecessary amongst Blades. Your comment certainly didn't add any value and I hope you know that by now, otherwise what was the point? I rarely let them pass without comment because there is a writer who holds a view and we should either debate it or respect it. One things for certain, every member has the right to express his/her opinion without fear of insult.

If I appear sensitive then that's not the worst trait in the world. I prefer to think I say when I'm annoyed rather than worry about appearances. I am also prepared to write exactly what I'm thinking regardless of how that thinking might be perceived, that's a good and bad trait I know.

Yes. I've had that privilege for years....

So I thought I'd respond sensibly to your original OP - yes, so far so good barring the result at Gillingham. I think we need our current unbeaten run to stretch a little bit longer before we get too carried away. The difference this season is that I'm really looking forward to going to games which I can't say for some last season.

If I was being sensitive, I'd think you were having a pop at some of us for starting "thin" threads. Unfortunately the refreshing goodwill and harmony doesn't necessarily also apply to S2 4SU.

Sorry Sir! However it's a bit of a stretch to call it an insult - for those, see pommpey's threads.

As regards Pommpey's threads, no wish to comment, as I say above, everybody is entitled to an opinion. :)
