Right, it seems that Wilder is staying and he has an increased budget.

Its going to be a long summer on here, even longer with posts like this, but say you were the manager and had money to bring in the following;

  1. 1 x 5-8m marquee signing
  2. 2 x Mid priced player (0-3m)
  3. 1 x Free transfer
  4. 2 x Loan player (season long)
Who would you go after in the above categories?

I'd go;

  1. Nahki Wells (Burnley)
  2. Jamal Blackman (Chelsea) & John Egan (Brentford)
  3. Martin Kelly (Crystal Palace)
  4. Sam Baldock (Brighton) & Harry Wilson (Liverpool)

1. Quality striker
2. Jamal Blackman (Chelsea) & Silvester van der Water (Almere City)
3. No idea tbh, don't know the lower leagues in England that good so I'll leave this one for you guys ;)
4. Mason Mount (Chelsea) & Kaj Sierhuis (Ajax)

Blackman back for another season long loan and use Brooks' Welsh partnership as a carrot to get Ben Woodburn on loan too!!

Millwalls LB was awesome so do all we can to get him and a shit hot CB whose identity I don't know...

1. Scott Hogan
2. Lee Gregory, John Egan
3. Jack Robinson
4. Jamal Blackman, ??

Hogan between your valuation given is unlikely, but couldn't think of anyone else.

Mason Mount would be an unbelievable signing. I reckon he'll go on loan to a prem club or be on the fringes of the first team next season though

CW staying - looks that way; Increased budget - by all accounts; Chances of £5-8m being spent on a single player - as much chance of Iniesta (or Scott Hogan) signing.

That aside, some sensible ideas in response to questions 2-4. I'd hope given how well the Blackman loan has gone and how much he's developed during his time at the club (he is unrecognisable when compared to the nervous wreck I watched in the friendly versus Eastleigh), I'd hope it may open up options to loan other Chelsea players.

1. - That's a pretty Large Marquee
2. - I think every player is shorter than 3m
3. - Obviously we're getting a freebie...Poundland prince and McTightArse aren't putting there hands in their pockets.
4. See Above

Would love to see aden flint in a Blades shirt.
Sam Gallagher.
Big jam.
Sam Baldock.

With that budget I’d look to go for...

  • Clarke at Pompey as a dominant centre half
  • Blackman as GK
  • the Bradford left back as LWB competition. Or a Premier league loan?
  • An attacking centre mid - maybe the Shrewsbury lad? Or Oztumer?
  • Striker is a tricky one. I’d look at Jack Marriott (though I’m not sure he’s Championship level) or a Premier League loan / international player.

Sorry, I need to know my wage ceiling before I answer that.

1. Troy Deeney - (weird I know)
2. Same - Blackman and Egan
3. Abel Hernandez
4. Ethan Ampadu and a quick youth left-back from a top 6 club.

= top 2. :)

Suspect he would cost more but
-matej vydra
Then
- Jamal Blackman
- devante Cole? (Not sure someone like him though)
Free
- Collins from West Ham
Loans
- chilwell from Leicester
- Ben Woodburn?
But aspirational perhaps

Jonathan Kodjia - Villa (If they go up) probably could get around that mark
George Hirst - Worth the punt on a free
Ben Osborn - Forest - Versatile and would be interested in him at wing back
Blackman Loan
Josh Onomah - Spurs Loan - Midfield / Attacking midfielder who is currently on loan at Villa
Jagielka - Free (released)

Don't think we'll be signing anyone for north of £5m

No real basis for any of this but some random names

Andy Yiadom from Barnsley
Jack Robinson from QPR
John Swift looked good for reading
Danny Batth if he becomes surplus to requirements at wolves
Mcburrie from Swansea would be good but probably out of our reach now Swansea have dropped down and will be looking to keep him.

I'd be looking to see if we could get Jamal signed and a couple of other Chelsea players on loan - huge pool of talent there.

Yiadom signed for Reading a few days ago

Also would love to loan Ojo (?!) that signed for fulham on loan from Liverpool

Him and sessignon battered us with their pace at the lane. Though suspect he could get a "top top" paying championship / prem loan next time out.

Basically I'd like some mad pace from one of the signings as I think this would give our play an added dimension.
