and hes every reason to think that im sure wilder is persisting with cannon because he blew 10m on him one is a far better striker and deserves to be given a chance come on chris wake up
I would prefer to understand the thinking behind Cannon/One after several matches.

If I was a manager of the club I supported, earned millions from, threw a hissy fit to get sacked and a big payoff, and knew this was probably my last job... you damn right I'd be trying to safeguard the future and leave a legacy. But Mr Wilder looks after Mr Wilder... as all historical evidence shows.
You'd care about the long term, when You'd left? You wouldn't care about your record or how supporters judged your time here?? Ok buddy.
You just keep moaning about the time he left.

Also, seems One isn't for sale. Soooooo

Our main issue is our manager. He didn't rate Ndiaye who was out the door by all accounts until Slav took over. He also wanted to loan Peck out and sign Dozzell ffs. So what chance has One got? I mean, Baptiste has played more minutes pre season than anyone else and was dropped for what would have been a perfect game for him to start in. Only to be replaced by a player the manager has publicly stated we're trying to move on.

i was a big defender of cannon when everybody was saying he was a waste of money i was convinced he would come good but after that couldnt be arsed performance at mansfield against an average league 1 defence ive finally given up on him never looked interested and one impressed me in his 20min stint if we could get 4m for him i would sell

Babtiste had picked up a knock prior to the Mansfield game and was rested from the first eleven

Nobody would've batted an eyelid had Peck gone out on loan. As it was, an opportunity appeared and he took advantage of it - football is very often changed in moments.

This feels like an oversimplification of the facts.

I'm sure Ndiaye wasn't getting played solely because he wasn't signing a new contract. Once he signed the contract under Slav, he ended up in the team.

Also fairly sure that Peck was on his way out until everyone saw how well he played in pre-season and realised that he covered the position that Dozzell was being considered back-up for.

The one thing that will always stick with the fans about Wilder is the way he spat his dummy and forced his own sacking. He could have chosen to walk away, but instead resorted to bad mouthing the chairman to the point he made his position untenable. Just so he could get his £millions.

If he is a true blade and and as he says this is "his" club... then yes... surely you'd want yo leave the club with a positive future.

No, no... the one thing that sticks with YOU is that he walked out after a disagreement we know nothing about.
Most fans remember and appreciate far more.

Including many, many ‘experts’ on here who said Peck was nowhere near ready for the first team at the time…
I am not sure that he was, but he improved rapidly and became a good Championship player. Where he goes from here I don’t know.

Really happy if that’s true and we have no intention of selling this summer. I’d like to see him start sooner rather than later and be given a run of games but until that happens it would be great to see him coming off the bench most weeks till he gets that chance of a run of games… One thing I hope doesn’t happen is to stick him on the left wing in his cameos, he is not a winger he’s a centre forward always has been and always will be. That is where he will make his mark for us and earn us a lot of money.

Yep, hes a natural centre forward. Potentially.... and i emphsis the word potentially, a very good one. He has all the natural attributes to become one. Even United realise hes an outstanding talent.

I reckon Wilder will up his place in the striker rotation and he will replace Cannon if we can offload.

Bamford, Campbell, O'Hare. One' Romelle would do ok

I doubt Campbell will feature very much, he turned up for preseason unfit, was sent on special one to one training sessions in an effort to get fit and has hardly featured in pre season matches.
Anyone offer anything over a £1m I would snatch their hand off, the guy does not seem interested

Something the bear in mind.
Wilder might not be here when One starts to kick on. If we brough Piroe in this Summer he would improve us immediately.

To us, the players, maybe even the owners, losing players like One and Peck is a negative in the long term, but bringing players in like Phillips, Bamford, Piroe etc could save a managers job medium to short term.

How many of us would jeopardise our job, for the benefit for our companies long term goals?
How many of us would claim to be a fan of our employer , allegedly have a nervous breakdown , walk out the back door and claim £4m compensation ?

Have it on very good authority that it is the player that wants out. Not the other way around.
And why wouldn't he ?
He's getting fuck all chance in the first team here , behind a cannon that will never fire

Tweaked his Hamstring
Wilder referred to him as ‘off’ and we were playing with 10 men for the last 10 minutes
