It's agent chatter. He's pushing for a first team contract on new terms.

Expect to see stories like this appear from paid journalists until the contract is agreed. I wouldn't put it past United to stick him in the reserves or send him on loan again (we've done it before).

I'm not sure. The successful manager of last season is now at Bristol City. It could be a nightmare of a season for Lincoln.

The truth is we haven't seen enough of him on a regular basis to make an informed decision.

You could argue a compromise would be they loan us Souttar, we loan them Oné.

We pay Souttar’s higher wages, they pay the lower wages of Oné and we review in 12 months.

Souttar will have just a year left then and if he had a banging season we’d be in a good position to sign him up.

Whilst not perfectly satisfying for Leicester in that they don’t get a fee this summer or Oné permanently, they do get a good player ready to do it at that level and offload some hefty wages.

We lose a player we might prefer around the place but get the centre half we want whilst not lavishing out on a fee.
