Third hand source, so not entirely reliable but Alan Quinn could be on his way back apparently.
Apologies if this has already been raised/rubbished/confirmed elsewhere.

Would be a good signing for Div 1 if true.

Hmm. Sounds similar to the usual Tonge & Brown stories that do the rounds. Lazy journalist looks at who's played for us before, sees that they're having a bad time of it at their current club, so suggests they might be transferring to us (see Beattie rumour). Would be happy were it true, but will wait and see.

Maybe we can get stead back as well? He'd destroy defences at this level

He'd be on the bench by Christmas I'm afraid.

People have some very odd ideas about League One. A rude awakening awaits.

We seem to have a bit of a fixation (not necessarily refering to this board) with wanting players back to the club for a second time

I can't think of too many, if any that actually come back and are as good, or as effective as the first time around. They have a habit of disappointing.

As for any truth in the rumour, well who knows, but I hope Alan isn't one of these "exciting players to get bums off seats" signings, Wilson has been refering to?

This hasn't come from a journalist, a colleague apparently knows someone who was out with Quinn's missus the other night and this is what he was told. He'd have no reason to make this up although as I say, it does come in third hand so it's not exactly an ITK source.

I would be happy if its true. Should never have been sold in the first place

He was useful when he was here, but he's 32 now, and is the wrong type of signing for us. The Ryan Flynn rumour is much more interesting.

Another 30-something to clogg up the production line and bloat the wage bill? No ta.

Whilst completely agreeing with your point, I give you Keith Edwards as the exception to the rule.

Agreed on that one Grecian. The suggestion that somehow Stead and Quinn would stroll through League One, lording it over the lesser mortals is hugely misguided. The same goes for most of our existing team.

Absolutely, but equally I hope no-one has any ideas that 'x-y (where x =:-( utd and y = Monty) = League Glory'. We've landed ourselves in a world of pain equal to the chumpionship. Just even more painful.

Nice tidy player in his prime but I'd rather go for players on their way up as opposed to down.
