I’ll go even further. I believed, wrongly, that there'd never been a two division gap between the Sheffield clubs in their histories. I got that one wrong

Up until that point there hadn't, because neither of us had been in the third division.

However, 6 years later, as with all things United we had to go one better and get relegated to the fourth division, so ensuring there was a two division gap the other way.

There was also a two division gap in 1988-9. Wednesday were in the first division, whilst we spent a season in the third.
