Zero risk in a winning position is spot on. Can’t believe the amount of fans whinging after a comfortable 2-0 just because Khadra didn’t come off benchJust how wrong could khadra have got it when it comes to 'shape without the ball', especially in his position? Has he never played football before? Is he a moron?
Any positional imperfections would likely have been outweighed by his value as an outlet, winning free kicks etc - that's the defensive contribution of a player like that and it can be considerable
Hecky's decision and comments scream zero risk, and while it was important to get the 3 points and wasn't as comfortable as it should have been thanks to fucking Norwood, zero risk will lose us more than it gains us this season imo
Hell yeah...Were not bothered about the line ups we need to know about the beer
He said they need to know the system and their roles in it , perfectly logical if you ask meI wasn't a fan of what Hecky said yesterday when asked why he didn't put McAtee or Khadra on with 10 minutes to go. He said "players need to know they have to work hard for a place on the pitch" (or words to that effect). Reyt...so when can we expect to see them then? I understand it to an extent, that shirts aren't just given, but yesterday's game was won and after 60 minutes was pretty much a stroll. It would have been an ideal time to get the news lads into the habit of how we play. Will we see them Thursday? Or the same squad? I want us to go out and win on Thursday as winning breeds confidence and Boro is a bogey ground for us. But I wanna see McAtee in particular.

He was the most I debated over. Just think his link up play long term with m/f and forwards vital so this helps build those relationships. Sub him after 45/60 maybe?I like Worksop's team, although I'd start someone else instead of Baldock. Not sure who, but starting wing backs shouldn't play unnecessary games.
Rest Egan and Clark.Spot on

I don't get this view at all. When he came on v Watford he tried loads of times to beat his man and lost the ball umpteen times, resulting in quick counter attacks by them. Not what we needed at all at 2 0 up vs. Wall. He did the right thing bringing on Osborn for me. Shut up shop in midfield and not allow them to come at us with an un-set defence. Right call from Hecky and he would have got pelters if he brought Khadra on and a turnover from him resulted in a breakaway goal. That made it all the more baffling we didn't bring him on at an ideal moment
A game is never won after 60 mins. Ask Leicester .I wasn't a fan of what Hecky said yesterday when asked why he didn't put McAtee or Khadra on with 10 minutes to go. Anything doing the rounds about the new scholars for this year Phil? I keep having a scout round online but seems like there’s nothing out yet.The U21s have a game tomorrow, Tuesday, 2 days before West Brom away. Who is & who isn't involved in that may give a clue to personnel for West Brom.
The Carrier Bag Firm will, of course, be there for all the on-the-spot bile.
If Norwood had put that penalty away, we would have definitely seen them.Just seen your post....maybe I imagined it....wouldn't be a surprise ha ha
but as stated in my post above Im sure Hecky said he refused to entertain the idea of bringing on either Khadra or McAtee
because neither have been at the club long enough to understand their defensive roles when we're out of possession.
I haven't seen anything. But, I'm afraid the CBF have had to restructure our "details" branch in favour of our "direct operations" branch. So we don't see as much information as previously. Sorry.Anything doing the rounds about the new scholars for this year Phil? I keep having a scout round online but seems like there’s nothing out yet.

Jebbison/Osula on at HT for Billy.
I'd be tempted to fully rotate it & stick Osborn RWB. Sharp / Jebbo up top.I’d like the two most recent signings to start, as I think they will. I’d also a smattering of our regulars to also start to begin building “on the the pitch” relationships with them.

Extra fitness/game time for Clark and Brewster.

I just want a different 11 don't mind who, not really fussed about cups.Osborn at right wing back, and that's what I'd go for. Broadbent was back in midfield in the U21s' last friendly. Not sure right wing back is his position.
Totally agree, in addition if we had made any more substitutions and suffered an injury we would have been unable to bring anyone onI was disappointed not to see one of Khadra or McAtee come on, but I think a lot of the criticism of PH on this is unfair.
For a start, his first substitution was to swap Ndaye and Brewster for Sharp and Jebbo, so hardly screaming zero risk as you put it, and arguably 2 out and out strikers for a striker and a CAM.
Further to this, when players like Khadra and McAtee are on the bench they are there as match winners, not to close out games. That was Osborn's job in replacing Fleck and being 2-0 up at 70+ minutes, going like for like is a reasonable move imo.
At the end of the day, getting the first win of the season on the board is crucial, and whilst it could have been a bit more decisive, I actually don't think we looked very troubled.
The new lads will get their chance, and there will be numerous games where we are chasing a result. Plenty of time to throw caution to the wind.
Disagree, full focus should be our best 11 fit and healthy for boro Sunday.I'd be keeping the core of the team and making just 3-4 changes. Change too many and it just becomes another pre-season friendly type game and very disjointed.
Agreed. That made it all the more baffling we didn't bring him on at an ideal moment
