Given we are playing and paying a Chelsea 19 year old to dangle his leg like a wet lettuce, how can a former 3 cap England International be so far out of the equation?

6'1", can play centre back or defensive midfield. He's the epitomy of the type of player the team would benefit from.

On Rodwell, I probably agree with you - he’s an ex England international and our team right now is crap, how can he not get in? How long has he been injured for? Why can’t he get fit?

For me, there does seem to be a lack of desire to get in the team and prove himself, I’m not going to have a go at him for signing a contract, he was offered it, he signed it, so would many others.

I guess we didn’t expect much from him but it’s been a pretty pointless signing.

In football there are less as it’s easier to spot, but how many players are happy to pick up a wage for bench warming - arguably we have 3 keepers doing that? Using abridged versions of profanities is an old social media habit to avoid the word being spotted by bots and the post being deleted. Try it on facebook for example.

The baffling thing is, after making literally no impact in the first year get renewed for a 2nd. Unless he's on literal peanuts, we are paying way over the odds for basically an extra body on the training pitch.

We don't have to go back and name anyone. People didn't criticise him because we were winning and he was brought in as cover to Keiron Freeman. Freeman stayed fit, Brown didn't play and left after 6 months.

That signing is not a failure just because hindsight merchants can say, 'he didn't end up playing for us, what a waste of money!'

EVERY club signs players that aren't expected to get a game, and most never do.

Cant understand why any player would be happy to be at a club and pick up more money and never feature, I would find it soul destroying watching most the lads I had trained with all week getting ready to feature in some capacity for the match at the weekend, heading off to the away game on a coach or to hotel on a Friday night while I had another Saturday morning sat at home watching soccer am. I would rather play at a lower level on much less money if it gave me a chance to feature regularly and be involved with everything that goes with being part of a team, the craic, the social aspect, the piss taking, the general great feeling of being with your mates and going in to battle. Rodwell is a waster in my opinion and I don't understand his thinking, he will no doubt be very proud of his bank balance but fuck that, money isn't everything.
