Robson says give me three years:shakehead:

Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson believes he can only really be judged by what he achieves in the long term at Bramall Lane.

The Blades boss says it could take up to three years to completely stamp his own mark on the club:

"It's not particularly my team at this moment in time. I'll try and get the best out of the lads at this moment in time because that's my job. They're a good honest bunch of players."

"But until you turn things around in a year and a half to three years then you can be judged. If you've changed players around and brought other people around.. .then you can be judged."

He will be lucky to get three games if current standard continue

I really like this part "I'll try and get the best out of the lads at this moment in time because that's my job. They're a good honest bunch of players."

Bascially says they are shit- nice motivation Relegation Robbo. Any player that sees this will just think fuck it I cant be bothered

No matter what boss i've worked for I've always done my best for the "customer" if people do different they don't deserve a job.

Especially one where the rewards are so great!

good to see hes finaly responded to them complete and utter twats that call them selves fans that shout for him out!

They piss me off they do

I think 3 years is a lil lengthy mind...spose every manager has his time period

And he's had his time. He's regressed United by a good five years in as many months.

Go, before it's too late.

if robbo saves us then we can compare him to warnock...which means we can then hope for promotion in 6 more years time :D

At the moment I ain't prepared to give him 3 days.

Im with you Bladesman ... The mans had time ... He set his second target of 6 points from 2 games at home ... Didnt manage it against Saints/Cardiff - And has failed this time aswell ... The team are poor - The Referees are diabollical (sp) - And Robson is worse Im afraid ... I was 1 of the ones who said give him time, give him a chance things are turning around but after yesterday I just felt embarassed we've gone from scoring 2/3 a game to barely testing the keeper - OK some credit as we're not conceding as many but things still arent right - Not scoring at home in a league game - What a disappointment!

I do however believe theres a slight improvement ... Only slight though!

Problem being that, if we are happy to get rid after 14 matches (I don't think for one minute McCabe would), who is going to want to take over from him?

McCabe won't - his decision is final.

Who would take over? Who is there out there to take over?

This is the real issue. Make a change now had we are probably kissing off the season - temporary manager while search goes on, hire some unknown or untried manager (got to remember our place, we are not bringing in a star), who then has to build the team yet again while our better players jump to other clubs.

Stay the course and we will make the play-offs, after that three games and we are in. I for one still believe in this club and the people who manage it.

Sheffield-bl4de thats utter tosh.

Dont think many managers could do much worse with the players we have.

I think a fair few managers would love to come with the setup and players we have.

We have just come out from the prem and robson was asked to bounce straight back. now its 3 years its going to take. Utter bullshit blades.

You are refering to a majority I'm afraid.

However, I believe the words you are using are rather harsh and I would expect you to take them back too.

Warnock also never put us in the position I'm afraid.

You can compare NW to BR all you like, but NW will always come out on top I'm afraid.

I understand there is a bedding in period for Robson, but how long does he need? 1 year will be too much if these perormances persist.

at the rate that things are moving, in one years time i fear we will be anothing more than a mediocre (sp) team with no progressive momentum.

Id like to say that we would be a the above in the mid championship area, but to be completly honest from the performances so far this season im no so sure that we would be. At best we will probably be a relegation fighting team.

I dont honestly see what three years would do, he obviosly hasnt got the pulling power that McCabe thought he had, if he did then we wouldnt be worried about atracting good players. The signings that he has made so far have not been all inspiring. The only one i have seen show any ounce of fight was Cahill, and he doesnt even want to stay here with united, bardsley does seem to be promising but again he isnt our player

I have to disagree with that.

Beattie - Class act. Bit isolated at the minute because of the tactics but without him we'd be crap.

Cahill - Again, a class act. I dread to think what the defence will be like when he goes back.

Bardsley - Has looked very good, and I hope we do make the signing permanent in January as has been the rumour.

Carney - Has looked quality when I've seen him, can't understand why he's not been playing in the League.

Naysmith - Hasn't been outstanding but has had a few niggling injuries, think he will get better game by game, as he has done the last 3 or 4.

dont misunderstand me, im not saying that all the signings have been crap. Far from it. But to elaborate on your list : -

Beattie - Scoring vital goals, not getting much in the way of service, and as a result can look very lazy. At the end of the day he is scoring goals and that can hurt

Cahill - Couldnt agree more, would prefer to see him captain and not naysmith.

Bardsley - Again comlpetely agree, really do want us to sign him on a permanent deal although i cant see it as Sir Alex will kno how good he is, and lets face it neville isnt getting any younger.

Carney - IMO had an outstanding first half against arsenal, second half wasnt as good, however this coud be due to lack of match practice. Think that he should be making more starts to gain much needed experience in the league.

Naysmith - Injuries havent helped, will get better im sure. However my Evertonian colleague says that he is either an all or mothing player with no consistency and no apparent reason for it appart from "I Cant be Bothered"

Hendry - Lack of matches due to injury, one of those things no-one's fault.

Lazy - Far from it Im afraid ... Time and time again does he chase endless causes and close the keeper ... His lack of service however DOES appears to be getting him down though

I believe Stead has also shown immense capabilities aswell - Along with Cahill Beattie Bardsley Carney & Naysmith
