Just from a quick glance, makes it very interesting reading

Not done a deep dive, if anyone can be bothered then feel free to do so

Makes it all the more alarming we decided to splash 10m on an ineffective striker as opposed to a replacement for our defensive lynchpin...

Souttar apps: 21
Goals conceded: 10
Clean sheets: 15

Robinson apps: 30
Goals conceded: 23
Clean sheets: 11

A lot of those clean sheets from Robinson were with Souttar, his stats with Anel are (shock) pretty poor
Games: 20
Goals conceded: 19
Clean sheets: 6

Annoying, but as ever with the issues this season, entirely avoidable. It's not even hindsight, it was blaringly obvious from the minute Souttar did his Achilles.
This is a partnership that played a mass chunk of a season in which we conceded 104 goals last season 😂

If it wasn’t for the Souttar period at the lane…We wouldn’t be anywhere near the top 3 now.

Not even going to deep dive or check a comparison. We’re essentially comparing a ford capri with a Ferrari.

Look, the stats mean nothing. JLT has a long throw from which we have scored zero goals from and he's the skipper, enough said.
Just because we have a 29 year old Rolls Royce on the bench, that has played 98 games for Arsenal, played in the Champions League and has marked Haaland out of the game before is irrelevant.

Signed to help us out at the "business end of the season" but doesn't play.

Not sure how old haaland was when holding marked him out of the game, but when I saw city play arsenal with holding starting for arsenal and haaland for city, haaland absolutely terrorised the arsenal defence only ramsdale stopped him from scoring at least 4, he did manage to score in the end, as did holding but he most certainly wasn't marked out of the game

Holding should be better than both of them. If he doesn’t start after the last two performances, he’s never going to get a chance.

We really should have brought in a centre half in the winter window...

Wilder made absolutely the correct call at the start of the season by bringing Souttar in and not having Robinson starting. He knows he’s not good enough. But he then made the fairly crucial error of sticking by Robinson in January after Souttar went down. Holding was only ever brought in as cover. I think Wilder had elevated Robinson to a point of such squad importance that he preferred not to rock the boat. I’m guessing. While I understood needs must on Robinson as a squad player early on I think it’s been a bit of a blind spot of Wilder to keep him around for so long, even to the point of making him a key figure in the squad. With younger teammates around, it makes sense. But I think Wilder should’ve taken a more long-term and ruthless decision on that.

There’s not much more to it than that. Robinson is a very average defender who won’t start for any other Championship side save for a newly promoted one at best. Souttar is levels above.

It was obvious as soon as Souttar was helped off the pitch that he had a serious injury and would significantly weaken the team.
It will probably prove to be the moment our promotion hopes nosedived.
Our biggest mistake of the season so far was not signing an adequate replacement in January.
I know quality dominant centre halves don't grow on trees and if someone does have one they will be reluctant to sell them but this should have been the number 1 priority in the transfer window by some margin and failure to address the issue will probably cost us millions.

United have only conceded 2 or more in 3/18 games since Souttar's injury. As much as Robinson and Anel aren't dominant, the attacking talent at the club should mean their performances are more than good enough. In the same time period, we've scored 1 or less 11 times.

Robbo has earned his corn in the past for us, but we need to bring in someone more accomplished imo, I think Wilder sees him as the tough ,gritty get stuck in type that he likes to think he himself is, having made him captain hints at that, this is what's keeping us from moving on, all the smacking the badge stuff is OK, but the media see him and us as the rough little club from the north with the manager who likes to be one of the lads, but not if they criticise him. We have a squad of good players ,but we need a coach that can take us to another level, we are playing men out of position, no system and no understanding, everyone reaches their peak and Wilder will always be a legend for what he did, now it's time to look to the future utb

Our biggest mistake was signing an accomplished Premier League defender and letting him on the bench for a bloke who is mid-table Championship level at best but can throw the ball a long way, he shouts a lot, does the odd slide tackle and has been here for ages so embodies the old-fashioned vision of what a captain is and promptly gets the armband, despite the fact that he's often culpable for avoidable goals being conceded. Being captain pretty much makes him un-droppable without Wilder losing face.

He's not as bad at defending as Ilian Meslier is at goalkeeping but he's a millstone who up to now we've been getting results in spite of, not because of.

If Souttar had stayed fit, I'm pretty sure we'd be sitting pretty at the top of the league, maybe a couple of wins away from it being all but sewn up.

man mountain popular ROBBO BLADES captain Was better defender playing alongside top fella we miss big harry souttar, priority is to sign great ausiie kop legend harry next season whatever league blades are in,we deffo miss soutts top player utb,

I agree that Holding looks far more accomplished than Robinson but unfortunately was very short of game time and therefore couldn't fit straight into the team. When he started against Bristol City he couldn't last the 90 minutes so Wilder decided not to risk him in the derby. He obviously sees him in training so should know his fitness levels but the only way to get match fit is to play. I think Wilder should given him more time on the pitch instead of a short cameos.

the day souttar got injured our defence looked poor he was the reason we did so well he tightened up the backline he was the best no5 by far and no matter what leaue blades are in next season we need to sign him has a priority hes popular hes class we miss his leadership and he should be made caotain, nuff said.
