He seemed to like QPR, swap him for Jimmy Dunne anybody? Better defender big unit occasional goal, whats not to like👍

Still think it was unnecessary to take his number off him, plenty of others we could have given to Baptiste rather than 33

Back involved with the group means??

Recovered from an injury? Not had a pre season? Fitness levels poor or previously consigned to training with the kids because we want rid of him? A fully fit RND, which we havent seen much of over the years, would be a useful LB back up if the club were to sell Burrows.

He played 39 times for QPR last season which is a good sign that he is probably over his fitness issues.

I wondered about that as well. Strange choice of words.

As much as he could be an asset to the squad, the only reason he's "involved with the group" is that he'll still need to train while sorting out his next move and is still under contract, better than being sat on his arse doing nothing.

He's been here for years, hardly played and hasn't really set the world on fire when he has, compared to some of the better full backs we've had.

Probably for the best, for his sake, to get a fresh start or for us to send him and a few quid to QPR for Jimmy Dunne in exchange.

Suspect he's on good wages but realistically 3rd choice left back and if we are playing 2 CBS he's not suited for that really.

I’m not sure his wages will be good. He got injured just before our promotion and was never part of our PL squads so I guess it’s standard championship levels.

If he can get a move and catch up his career earnings then GLTTL.

Not in the know but when he signed his current deal in 2024, he was in the Wales international side and was seen as an asset. With him signing new improved terms in ‘24 he could be on a decent salary, he played in the 23/24 PL season although only 5 appearances. That being said if an offer did come in it would be difficult to turn down as not exactly going to be 1st or possibly even 2nd choice here

Yeah I’m only surmising. If he’s on more than a decent championship salary, then I’d question the sanity of that decision. It felt a slightly sentimental call to give him 3 years. And I confess I’d completely forgotten the 5 PL appearances. I must have been watching those games from behind the sofa…

Played more games for other clubs on loan than he has for us in his career speaks volumes just get rid he's never held a first team place down and he's 27 now

Once again it makes me worry about how we go about fitness and conditioning at the club. RND can do his hammy twice over 2 seasons then walk into another and club play a whole season without barely an issue.

Controversial opinion time, in a back 4 he’s a better player than burrows… still was behind mccallum mind
If we’re doing the 4-2-3-1 properly then RND would be a better choice if Seriki is on the pitch. The formation is supposed to work by your fullback creating an overload and the other full back tucks in to make a back three and you end up with a ‘front five’.

We seem to play it with two attacking fullbacks which means our midfield has to put a shift in filling the gaps everywhere.
