A big shout to Norrington-Davies from Tuesday night. Marking a very, very good wingback on a flank where we were collectively torn a new one on Saturday.

He was absolutely outstanding and kept Spence to a bit-part player until possibly the last few minutes (when we were being overloaded as everyone was shattered).

He was brought into a team that many had written off and given one job, which he executed superbly. Great to see.

(Not sure if already a thread on this but if there is he deserves two).

Baldock, RND and MGW were by far our best players in the away leg.

He was brilliant defensively, which is exactly what was required in that game. He just doesn't offer enough going forward for a wingback though.

He either has to play left back, which isn't likely any time soon, or accept a horses for courses situation where he plays when we need to tighten up on the left. Stevens isn't particularly brilliant going forward these days either, but he still offers more.

Hopefully we find a left-footed Bogle from somewhere.

His best performance in a united shirt by miles. However I would say he still did little going forward. It was his defensive performance that shone.

Much improved display and RND has now set the bar. Not sure he’s shown anything apart from Tuesday to suggest he can maintain it but let’s see. In terms of pace and commitment he’s got some great attributes, what he lacks so far is guile in the final third and composure with and without the ball.

Firtst game against Scabs he kept johnson and spence at bay all match

He was controlled because he didn’t get the ball nearly as much.

Our superior possession and offensive swagger was the major contributor to this fact.

Enda didn’t have the same level of “protection”.

Enda was abysmal on and off the ball, as he was against Fulham and the majority of the last 18 minths. It was painfully obvious before the first game where Forest were going to attack. They killed Stevens and that's why we aren't booking Wembley tickets

So Enda was well protected from one of the most dangerous right sided players in the division then ?

Directly comparable to that which RND had 3 days later ??

Left back in a back four seems his ideal position.

Three reasons he could still become first choice left wing back next season:

1) he's young enough to develop the offensive side of his game, and as he gets more experience he may also get more confidence. I think this has held him back.
2) playing regularly should make him improve his understanding with teammates. There are still small misunderstandings where teammates don't quite know if he's staying to receive or making a forward run.
3) We may have so many attacking threats overall that a steady eddie on the left just adds balance...

Agree with all of that. I like him a lot as a player and he's got room for improvement given his age. At the moment he doesn't have the sort of attacking output we need from a wingback in our system but it could come with time.

RND’s biggest attacking asset is his running power. I’m not tactically knowledgeable enough to know how we harness that, but our patterns on the left can’t be the same as our right.

I don't always rate RND that highly.

Felt he can be solid but that's usually it and enda has that bit extra quality generally.

However i thought RND was excellent against forest, he really was.

He's awful and physically incapable of playing that position at this level. Didn't used to be the case. Is now

You are as deluded as the clowns from across the city. He lacks the basic abilities of a Championship footballer, his positional sense has disappeared, he's lost any athleticism he ever had and he make genuinely baffling decisions in possesion. He's an absolute liability against any team with the resources to target him. And to top it all off he signed his contract when he was at the top of his game so he's a big earner.

There's an excellent argument that in terms of return on investment it's the worst, non-injury based contract in the Championship along with McBurnie

He was my MOTM against Forest, simple as that. Thought he was magnificent.
