RND not done bad recently. One area I’d like to see improvement is to stop allowing his marker to get goal side of him

Happened a few times it’s like he’s not fully switched on in defensive mode

Done ok going forward that final ball just needs a tweak though

With how much his defensive play has improved in a short time I wouldn't back against him upping his attacking output significantly as well. His basic technique is good and his crossing is inconsistent but he has put some really good balls in
Be great news for us if you're right.

He’s not unlike Baldock - seems pretty angry and likes a battle with his man, snaps into tackles, generally sound footballer with an inconsistent end product.
Bit less pace n'all, think he could be as good as Baldock but isn't there yet.

He’s got bags of heart, obviously keeps himself in great shape, never stops running. I’m still not convinced he offers enough in the final third. And he has a rash tackle in him. Both things that can be improved though, given his age. He’s a decent squad player at this level with the potential to be better than that.

Him and young Gordon neck and neck today for mom
I thought they were both poor, especially Gordon. He’s miles off for me at the minute and sticks out like a sore thumb. He looks nowhere near ready but needs must.

All about opinions tho pal.

Solid championship left back, not got the quality needed moving forward in terms of delivery at lwb. Osborn a better option there when baldocks fit
He tries his backside off, wins us possession a fair bit and never stops. He's a penalty waiting to happen though, he doesn't half bloody dive in. I sort of can't fault him but not really sure he's up to it either. I'd give him MOM today though for sheer Bashness of trying to get us going when there was fuck all else happening.

Think he will be a squad player with us for many seasons to come, rated highly by the coaches here and in the Welsh camp.

But if we get promoted, would be very surprised if RND or Enda start the first game next season.

He doesn't seem good enough for the level we're at, and especially the level we want to be at. I don't think I've ever seen him beat a man and his ability to make a yard of space for a cross is non-existent. His link up play with the other left-sided players is noticeably worse that Stevens as well (although O'Connell would make anyone look better). These aren't good traits for a wingback.

Defensively he's solid enough despite having a bad habit of letting his man get goal side of him and then making a clumsy challenge.

He's fine as a squad player but I worry he'll need to be more than that with our lack of spending power.

He's growing on me, far better defensively than at the start of the season, when he tackles, you stay tackled.
If he can be taught to push past and take on his fullback then we've got a decent player.
Young lad still learning, I'll cut him some slack for now.

He had a good second half defensively, but in recent weeks against Blackpool (Bowler) and Forest (Spence) he got turned inside out with ease. Fortunately today, Barnsley had no such threat.

I can see why he was being considered as a backup for JoC at one point, he looks like he'd make a good LCB in a 3.

Committed in the tackle, tenacious, battling defensively...

...lacking a bit going forward at the moment to make a fully effective LWB, but with a bit of work on his end product (still young, very intelligent lad, further development is far from out of the question) he could be just what we need and may give us a good few years of service

We love to slag our own off don't we ?

22 and his 1st season in the first team. Yes, he's got some gaps in his game but as you say they can be improved on. He's a kid after all. I thought he had a really solid game today

This really. Needs to improve a lot but he's still young. This is the thing, if you want to bring young players through they need time.

He’s probably a solid enough left back at this level. The trouble is a lot of teams are setting up now with wing backs and as a result left backs are expected to develop some attacking prowess overnight. Should we go up with this squad he’d 100% need replacing as a wing back.

If he can improve his game going forward, then he could end up keeping the shirt for a long time. because hes not bad defensively. The odd stupid tackle here and there but that will come with experience hopefully!

I disagree with the "had a good game" comments today, several times his hesitance to beat a man or cross early made us play narrow into congested Barnsley areas.

He's an OK LWB at best.
I agree. In first half I was questioning whether Stevens was fit enough to come on.
RND grew into the game and had a solid last 20-25mins

22 is not a kid. He's a full international and this is his 4th full season as a professional footballer.

He played 36 Championship matches last season

Thought he was deffo one of our better players yesterday - didn’t have much competition tbh - especially in the 2nd half

Not Good Enough.
That's what they said about this guy last season.

And (before my time) I was told that this young graduate got booed by the home "faithful".

He only had a few matches in our U18s. Including as a kid, this is his first full season as a Blade.
"As a blade"

All I'm saying is he's got tons more experience than the likes of Gordon and Lopata etc. He's not a kid as some are suggesting.

Hes had a full season in Conference. 1 in League 2 and this is now his 2nd in Championship.
