It's looking good for us so far. We've brought in 3 good players, 2 well before the deadline, while pretty much all of our rivals have left it until deadline day to do anything that will strengthen them significantly.

January activity so far:

Leeds - Kiko Casilla (GK).
Out: Samuel Saiz.

Norwich - Philip Heise (LB from Dynamo Dresden, Bundesliga 2). Akin Famewo (young CB from Luton).
Out: Ben Marshall. Nelson Oliveira (squad players).

West Brom - Mason Holgate (RB).
Out: Harvey Barnes recalled. Oliver Burke. Bakary Sako.

Middlesbrough - Rajiv van La Parra (R/LW). John Obi Mikel (CM).
Out: Danny Batth. Martin Braithwaite.

Derby - Ashley Cole (LB).
Out: Alex Pearce and George Thorne (squad players).

Bristol City: Kasey Palmer (AM).

Aston Villa: Kortney Hause (CB).
Out: Scott Hogan. Ross McCormack.

Nottingham Forest: Pele (CM from Monaco). Yohan Benalouane (CB).
Out: Danny Fox.

I like West Brom's activity. They're being linked with Jacob Murphy from Newcastle, but he's no Harvey Barnes.

Boro have recruited best but it's offset by the departures of decent players, and they could also lose Assombalonga.

If not much changes, and we don't sell anyone we shouldn't, we look to have had the best window. The rest of the day's activities could affect us significantly one way or the other (so this is absolutely Blades related). Let's hope none of them get "a Mitrovic".

Leeds only signing is still (probably) the best they could have made, sadly.

Particularly pleased that the pigs don’t even count as rivals. Unless they haven’t done anything?

And disppointing that Abraham at Villa hasn't gone to Wolves/been recalled by Chelsea.

It is, but then we might not have got Hogan.

Forgot to include, Villa also lost Yannick Bolasie. His loan was cut short.

Mikel should be decent in theory, but he's been in China and was a free agent, so where he's at is anyone's guess.

No coincidence Bruce starts after window is closed is it..

Oh and I think Ricky meant promotion rivals hahahahahahah let’s all laugh at Wednesday
He’s doing a presser at 2.00pm apparently

West Brom are the ones I fear. Holgate has done well and Murphy would be decent.

I think they could fall short if they don’t bring in more strikers as Gayle & Rodriguez tend to pick up injuries.

Norwich look strong regardless but again one or two injuries to key players and they may struggle to get over the line.

Was hoping Leeds would lose Clarke to upset things but that rumour seems to have gone quiet. It’s possible that any deal would probably involve a loan back until the end of the season anyhow.

Also, I was amazed to find that John Obi Mikel is only 31 years old.
He must have the same agent as Joseph Minala...

EDIT: I retract that scurrilous suggestion. Obi Mikel is Nigerian and nothing illegal ever happens in that country.

I like to think I'm fairly switched on as to what's happening in the Championship, but... Jon Obi Mikel plays for Middlesbrough?!

Yup. He came back to England pretending he was fleeing a war-torn country but there were no places in primary schools for him.

Whatever his wiki says, I'm calling bullshit on Mikel the only being 31.

Where’s that French kid these days Ricky?

Man something or other. Pacy, black, flop.

Just signed this window. Is it just me, but I never rated him? Always thought Chelsea carried him and were weaker when he played
