Can't remember a year like this :(.

Yet one of my 1st thoughts, after condolences of course to his friends and family, is pride at being associated with a club where so many fans will know the name of the club photographer and mourn his passing.

RIP

Sad news to get up to this morning.

Been a friendly face to bump into regularly all over the country (and beyond) over the years and always good to have a chat about the Blades, the latest incumbent, the good old days, the shocking light for photography at various grounds and the horrible weather braved in the mission of capturing imagery of the Blades.

Blade through and through and a true gent.

Rest in peace, Baldy.

That's very sad to hear. Even as a kid, I always recognised his name in the match programme and liked the familiarity of seeing it associated with so many iconic SUFC moments. What a lot of happy memories he has been able to bottle for us.

RIP - I never met Martyn but we have a superb record of his work.

No doubt the club will be producing an overview and we'll marvel at the shots he got.

A man who looked as though he enjoyed his job, closer to the action than any of us!

Always a smile and always a word from the touchline, we'll miss you Blade.

RIP. Martyn.

RIP Martyn.

Condolences to his family.

Another one of the Blades family taken from us.

Lovely bloke ,nothing was ever too much bother ,took some for me of me and my lad at the Lane after he came back from Afghan and always had something to say .xx

A lovely bloke. He would always have time for a chat and give out little bits of ITK, as not just a photographer but a keen Blade as well.

Made me laugh when he told me the sun cream for his bald head was tax deductable! Martyn will be sadly missed.

Very very sad news. A proper club man. Up there with the likes of Mick Rooker as a genuine Sheffield United supporter working for the club he has a genuine passion for.

A remember years ago when McDonald screwed him over, and used someone else as the club photographer, and the huge difference in quality. He work was first rate.

RIP

RIP - another true blade gone. Thank you for the memories Martyn. This has been a hard year for the blades - body blow after body blow. We have to come back from this year stronger and more United than ever.

I'm 40-odd now and he's been a permanent fixture behind one goal or another for as long as I've been going. Gutted for his friends and family.

RIP another instantly recognisable and top Blade.

Seems like yesterday when I was joking with him about switching from Nikon to canon,a top quality guy and a brilliant photographer
