Bernard had a long association and involvement with the Blades whom he served as director and Chairman over many years.

The unstinting support he gave a succession of managers and chairmen proved invaluable, particularly in the days when the Club was experiencing turbulent times.

Appropriate tributes are being prepared and we express our heartfelt condolences to Bernard's wife, Enid, daughters, family and friends.

R.I.P. Bernard, Another blade to the big ground in the sky
 
Can only echo what was said above. Another Blade to go and sit in the great South Stand in the sky.

As much as we all moan and whinge, the Blades are one big family and I will always be sad for a member of that family passing away.
 
Once had a chat with Bernard, at of all places Millmoor! First and foremost a supporter through and through. He might have ended up as President but he was always a supporter first! Good bloke, will be greatly missed by many, many people at BDTBL. Sympathy to all his family and friends on their great loss.

RIP Bernard!
 
Once again can only echo what has been said above. Kind of puts everything to perspective about the current downturn in form that we're suffering from - we'll see us come out of it whereas more and more of the extended Blades family won't - A great shame!!
