Don't get why the Blades are the only team not "allowed" to play left-footed players on the right or have left-footed players not able to tackle with their right foot. Methinks some folk are grasping at straws to find fault. With all the left/right stuff we basically held Newcastle to very little offense, we played well (including the left/right bunch) but were let down by our finishing - but that is always a 50:50 game at best. Am sure we should have beat them cause they are rubbish - that's why they are in 1st place. Regardless of our current injuries, and I do include those who are not 100% fit, we are looking better thanks to the manager (if he's responsible for the crap he is sure responsible for the improvement) and we just need to shots to go in.

Of course you're "Allowed" to I was just questioning why put our most dangerous wideman on the opposite side where he wasnt as effective, smacks of losing the battle before its started especially as we had two right wingers in Cotts and Little on the bench, oh and dont forget France can play that role if you're worried about attacks coming down that side.

Yes I am sure we would have beaten them, they looked poor last night. So what if they are in first place by that logic does that mean they wont get beaten this season now... :loopy:

Feel free to praise Blackwell if you like, personally I think we are still playing poor but not as poor as we were, and Im yet to be convinced that its down to the manager.

covering half the midfield on the right with two left-footers was a ridiculous idea, you could see it from the off, that it didnt work.

I'm very surprised at this comment come from away. It's not like we had Joe Cole or Rober Pires playing on the wing, it was Jordan Stewart FFS. When KB started the game with Stewart (a LB) on the left wing and Treacy (a LW) on the right, with Cotts and Little on the bench I was thinking 'what the bloody hell is he playing at??'. After we went 1 nil down and he switched our left back to the right wing and waited 15 minutes before he brought on an attacking right footed winger I nearly blew a fuse.

This is not just clutching at straws! It's sheer idiocy or clueless-ness on KB's part. I gave Blackwell credit for attempting to take the game to Newcastle and motivating his team to play the better football. However keeping Stewart out wide right when we were chasing the game is hardly a master stroke.

the most ridiculous thing of all, when walker had to go off injured, we get mr. utility, ryan france introduced, when the logical step wouldve been to bring on little or cotterill and re-jig the back four to stewart-killa-morgan-davies. blackwell has no brains, sorry.

Going down to 10 men would have been more logical than bringing on Ryan France. At least he didn't cost £3M, I suppose.

:)

(If you look at it like that then ....) Effectively we were playing with 9 men with that headless chicken Quinn tainting a Red and White shirt.

Even the best games are full of mistakes, and easy to find. Making as if they are major disasters in a game where we played quite well seems to me more about people proving themselves right rather than looking at how (well) we performed.

I thought we did well last night overall. There's not a lot wrong, but what is wrong is a big problem. Goals. Do we continue to feel that we owe it to Evans to prove his worth, or accept that he looks like he hasn't got any and move on, going back to it when we have the luxury. I think we should pursue the latter.

The defensive mistakes / bad luck should pass. But the introduction of Ryan France did at least serve to remind us just how thin we're left in places.

great post mate

seems like some people seem more bothered about their status on an internet message board than backing the team

I think we performed better last night, though to be honest whoever we play at the moment we seem to get just under their performance level, and come out with very little (nowt).

But put either player in our team and they would do the same; I suppose you wouldn’t want Glen Johnson at right back in case he made a rick a couple of times a season which led to chances for the opposition.

Walker isn’t above criticism but the blame culture around this forum is appalling these days.

I also think the fact that he is a youth team product and a blade does afford him more support then players without similar ties to the club. That’s just my personal opinion.

I'd happily have Glen Johnson as our right back, but if he needlessly loses possession and that ultimately leads to a goal he can expect some criticism for his actions. Im happy to see Walker bombing forward and taking players on. But watch the highlights.....there were FOUR players round him and he had the opportunity to play it inside. Instead he lost the ball and they scored.

Its silly basic mistakes like this that are costing us dear at the moment....when we're on a run of form like we are I'd rather the defenders stick to defending and leave the attacking to the attackers.

Yes you can have a prize. How would you like the loan of my season ticket for the next match? Then you might, just might, appreciate other peoples views when you have to sit and suffer this crap first hand, instead of just listening to the commentary or watching it on TV.

It's dead easy to be all happy clappy from a distance, isn't it? Let me know if you want 'the prize'...

Just stick your ticket in the mail son, I'll be happy to put it to good use, bring my red and white specs and clap like hell. UTB!

Still gutted about the game last night! The Blades deserved atleast a point out of the game,IMO the team played ok, first half Newcastle didn't look in the game at all and we had a couple of good chances,Hendersons at the start and Evans just before halftime were both very close.

The goal was typical of our luck at the moment,I thought the Nolan tackle was fair from where I was sat in the south stand, just seen it on calendar and it still doesnt look too bad to me,the deflection for the goal was brutal!

I thought Davies had a solid game,he was getting some stick on radio Sheffield after the game but I thought he did ok.Infact the whole defence had a good game.

Also thought Hendo and Treacy had good games, Stewart was awful!! And for me one of the most annoying things ever was Cotterill taking a short corner then gettin tackled and fuckin it up when we need a goal quick! Why cant he just put it in the box!

UP THE BLADES!!!!!
