Why is that most professional footballers are totally incapable of kicking a football confidently with both feet. I see this on a regular basis at the Lane, without naming players because I think most Blades know who they are. Many times moves are broken down because of a players inability to kick the ball with his weaker foot. It baffles me, at the end of the day they get paid to kick a football, so surely they should be comfortable using either foot. Sometimes it’s embarrassing and frustrating at times watching a player turn on to his weaker foot and knowing full well nothing productive is going to come from it.

They can all use both feet but choose not to gamble on the weaker one unless they have to because the outcome is less certain and they want to win the game.

Sometimes some of our players can't even kick the ball confidently with either foot

100% agree and always have.

A few on here have got upset when I've commented on this before.

I don't expect any player to be Ian Bryson, Brian Deane, or even Mark Duffy, but I do expect professionals on a few thousand or more per week to be willing to do the basics with their wrong foot.

If my 12 year old had given a corner away like Johnson in that position by going with his wrong foot, I'd be having a word.

Simple really kids don't play spot any more, as kids we would play with the weaker foot. Kids today play on proper pitches rather than on the street with a tennis ball or whatever was available, it taught skills. The likes of Woody and TC were good with both feet as were most footballers it was an exception to have a Norman Hunter type who had one leg which was only good for standing on or to lift of the floor to fart.
