So, the emergency loan window closes this week.
Alcock is our only specialist right back and our main cover Ben Davies is injured.
If Alcock were to get injured or suspended between now and January, who would play right back?

Flynn played there once in pre-season. Would he be strong enough defensively? More height lost at set pieces.
McEveley can play centre back and left back. Would he be the best bet at right back? Even though he's left footed? Not much chance of him getting forward and overlapping?
Who else? McGahey? Collins? Kennedy?

Obviously, a striker is clearly the main priority for this week but it seems to me, we're also a little exposed in this position and we could really do with bring someone in for the next month or so, until Davies is available again.

Jason Paling played a bit for the first team in pre season. How has he played for the youth team this season? DazBlade88 ? Foxy ?

Haha just said/asked the exact same on the academy thread before reading this!

Great minds and all that!

I've not managed to see the U21s yet this season so I'm not sure how he's been getting on. He's a decent lad though and has potential. It would be unfair to throw him into the first team as it stands in my opinion, would do him more harm than good.

Wasn't Basham meant to be a right back when we signed him?

I think when we signed him it was mentioned he could play CB, CM or RB. If Allcock was out then presumably Basham could play at RB and then you'd still have McCarthy, McEveley, McGahey, Kennedy and Collins (??) to play CB.....

Kennedy would be a solid right back, but not much use going forward. Flynn might be worth a gamble at right back in a home game.

Diego. He's the bestest player ever and he's never been given a chance at right back.

Disgusting!

Whatever happened to that lad with a beard? Did he go missing?

Our new hero, Sir Christopher of Bashamshire, played right back on occasion for Blackpool

After tonight, I think we can rule Sir Christopher of Bashamhire out as a good, attacking right back!

Alcock was definitely in need of a rest/kick up the bum but as predicted we are woefully short of cover in that position.

No chance of bringing someone in until January now. When is Davies likely to be fit?

Basham didn't cover himself in glory in that first half. Jose looks f***ed. Without Alcock to glare at when he's cocked up himself, Macarthy displaces his inadequacies onto Baxter.

Think I'll ring the ticket office and ask if they'll sell me a ticket which will allow me entry from 4pm on Saturdays and 8-45pm on Tuesdays, either that or can they open a nursery for the first half of matches so I can have a kip
