Great goal, but what a vile little cheating sewer rat trying to get our players booked.
No way would managers like Dyche and Wilder tolerate such blatant cheating and theatrics.
Referees need to have balls and stamp this cancer out of the game.

Nailed it. Football's full of it.

Someone said he was shown two yellow cards?

I think we all unanimously agree he's a cunt. That sort of football really pisses me off. It's also, for me, completely over shadowed their result.

He's a modern day shithouse.

Players who used to be shithouses were players who would give an opponent a dig off the ball when the ref wasn't looking, a player who left one on his opposite number early doors to knock him off his stride. It's all about gaining little advantages.

Nowadays the little advantages are gaining soft fouls in dangerous areas. Getting the referees on side by making out they aren't getting enough protection from the centre halves. Modern day shithousing is about taking forever to be subbed and delaying free-kicks. It's made the game far less enjoyable to watch imo.

Before the modern day shithousing, the old shithousing didnt affect the game all that much as it rarely disrupted the flow of the game. Nowadays, games are so difficult and frustrating to watch. The referees have no control over it and they fall for it every single time. They never have the balls to add the correct amount of time on. We had 4 minutes today. We normally get 4 minutes pre-lockdown, yet no additional time is added on for water breaks and additional sub breaks.

Modern day football is fucking wank and the governing bodies, the players, the coaches and the referees are all responsible for it.

Agreed he's a full weight but someone needs to have a word with Basham who unfortunately seems to have caught the bug. 3 blatant dives in last 3 games. Pack it in.

At least Basham is trying to join in on this game of conning the ref. Every other cunt in the league gets away with it.

Basham needs to get some lessons from Tom Daley in pre-season. His diving ability could turn a nailed on penalty into a free kick to the opposition. It’s piss funny to watch 😂

Great player, absolute twat. I'd be ashamed of him if he played for us.

Should have been booked long before he actually was

There was a tackle on Basham in the first half that was as cynical as anything I've seen. Fair enough, I've begged for one of our players to do that at times this season but its frustrating to see the ref not produce a card. Especially when Norwood was booked for literally one of the cleanest tackles I've ever seen.

I rarely lose my rag with referees but I was yelling at the tv when he completely bottled it and booked Norwood. There was nothing wrong with that tackle, but he sees this player writhing around and is terrified he’s missed something.

I hope they go through their performance and look at what they’ve got wrong.

Everyone makes mistakes but it took him so long to blow the whistle, Richarlison’s play acting must have had an impact.

Wasn't bothered until the expensive players started screaming.

Disgraceful.

Referees and officials are totally, 100% unaccountable. They don't have to explain or justify anything. No press questions or interviews in an industry where media coverage is widespread and rampant. Its completely by design and exactly what FIFA, UEFA, PL, EFL and the rest want; fall guys who nobody can take to task...

... in a billion dollar industry 🤷‍♂️

That was disgusting from the referee, he wasn't interested in that Norwood tackle, he was playing on, until that tosser started squealing. If that's a foul it really is time for us all to pack in with this charade.

I usually have a modicum of sympathy for the officials as most of the premier primadonas are always at it chucking themselves to the ground. However, that was absolutely pitiful from the ref last night and for that matter the player.

The authorities could quite easily stamp it out, review that incident and ban the ref and player for 6 games each, they'd all start getting their game in order then.

Wilder talked about it after the Arsenal cup robbery, don't do it Chris stick to what's took us this far. Have a word with basham and let's play football the honest, proper, Sheff United way.

Cheating is sadly encouraged by the governing bodies.

Need to join them.
I said the same. We need to go down more as well. Didzy was getting pushed about a couple of times but stayed on his feet where Richarlison would have cried.

There were also 2 'cynical fouls' not booked by the ref which I thought was weak.

It’s part of the game/culture in South America, looking for any advantage by over reacting at fouls, trying to get the opponent booked and sent off, diving and moaning at the referee non stop.
It’s not good to watch, but that’s how they are

On reflection a terrible game to watch last night due to a piss poor weak referee who only ever blew his whistle when an Everton player screamed and threw himself to the floor. On every stop in play he was surrounded by moaning scousers getting into his earoles how he managed to book Norwood for a great tackle I will never work out. Yet at the same time cynical tackles from Everton players went unpunished card wise, the tackles on McBurnie and Basham were especially poor. The Everton game plan was obviously to disrupt our play any way they could be that by niggley fouls or feigning injuries and the referee played right into their plan.
Ancelotti is supposedly a good manager looks more like another cheating foreigner to me on that showing. Everton fans are deluded if they think they can challenge for a top four place next season a top half finish is much more realistic for them at best.

I'm afraid it's a bit of a cultural thing with Latin American footballers and has been for years. The problem is, it has spread to others now, of all races and cultures, and the authorities have not acted firmly enough to stamp it out. We know that referees are becoming powerless so I wouldn't rely on them to stamp it out, but maybe the various football associations could change the rule book and come down heavy on this play-acting, which in other words, is just plain cheating. It is supposed to be a game of "sport" after all - but I don't think the concept of "sport" is understood or upheld.

One "highlight" for me was when DCL booted Egan into the South Stand. Egan just got up and laughed it off. What a fucking solid pro. Imagine if that had been the other way round, they'd have been hounding the ref for a red.
