Come To Daddy...

He looks like he manages a small team in the marketing department.

Quality signing by The Manager, spine of the team is now there, looking forward to this campaign! High hopes

Don't think the spine is there yet. Would like to see a powerful player in the centre and striker up front with pace who can score out of nothing.

Existing players might step up to those roles but it's a big ask.

Poor player awful signing. Just goes to show the limitations of our ambitions.

This sort of signing's OK but we really ought to start exploring the lower leagues a bit for younger players with a point to prove.

How many players should we take a punt on in the hope they come good in the championship this season

Is Evans, Thomas, Stevens and the lad from mk whose name escapes me not enough?

I haven't but I got Runaround Done right and I'm pretty confident about Wright as well. We can't say on the one hand that we need two new Centre-Backs [we do] and then put Jake Wright first on the team-sheet for sentimental reasons. As I say, Jake was superb for us and deserves all the plaudits he's received, but in football we move on...
CW did say in the interview, " I am loyal, but I'm not sentimental".

i am delighted with this capture. brilliant signing quality championship player wasnt he part of the fulham team that made the playoffs last season & if i remember correct impressed a few while playing for wolves in the premier league.

also it slightly worries me that based on the last 2/3 years (bar billy & moore). all the people i previously heard of have ended up being huge flops ;)

To be honest I have no idea what he is like, I don't seem to remember him particularly standing out when I have seen Wolves or Fulham and I am not a geek so have never played Football Manager.

Best to reserve judgment on whether this is a good signing or not until he's played a few.

Tongue in cheek from young Ricky I think mate

To be fair if he had been standing out for Fulham or Wolves, he wouldn't have signed for us!

He's a good player for the level we are currently at.

Good solid signing with plenty of experience in the championship.

Hadn't heard us linked with him until he signed, which just goes to show we are busy behind the scenes.

People need to realise the players we have had bids turned down for aren't the only targets we have. R-E-L-A-X

Isn't Stearman quite an artist too?
Presty needs to be worried, then. Very worried.

Interesting... I can't find any mention of that on Google... Are you getting him confused with another ex Wolves player, Jody Craddock? He's a fairly active artist.

A good solid pro at a good age with bags of Championship experience... very happy with this signing.

HTF did we keep that one so quiet?

Reight signing, we were told there would be 2 big uns so is Holmes or Leonard in same class? I think Tufty might have another up his sleeve.

Really good signing. Consistent performer, good experience but not too old. Definitely makes or defence stronger. Well done Wilder.

I think this might be the first of a double signing as rumours about the charlton lad are quite strong?. I M O

like wilder said to Jonathan Buchan, your not doing your job properly if we signed Stearman and Baldock without you picking up on it

Indeed there is..........think this fella got it about right !

Of course the great man didn't have in mind aimless punts in the general direction of the opposition end. That's a 'who cares; let's see what happens' ball. Bob's illustrious predecessor, the equally great Shanks, coined the phrase 'alehouse football' when describing a particularly agricultural Southampton team.

"If God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he'd have put grass up there. ... ". The Legendary Brian Clough.

There's a world of difference between Tony Currie/Glen Hoddle and Dave Beasant/Mark Morris. Wonderful football on the one hand...
